Watching the CU-UE game, CU almost looks like they are playing like WSU today and we played like CU today. Maybe it is the curse of St. Louis.
I know I am biased, but it sure seemed like the refs really favored ISUR today. And of course it seems like they are heavily favoring CU in this second game.
Creighton is all loose and smiles now since they don't have to get stomped by us again. However, Illinois State will have the 'eye of the tiger' and I hope they beat them. It will be their Superbowl.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Let's just say Illinois State played extrememly physical but yet received more throws and made all but 2 of them. Even so, we had around a 13 point lead at one juncture, but yet lost. Our Shocks have played so well this Season, even with nice runs by our opponents and tough calls along the way, we most always found a way to win and were very resilient. However, today, the mysterious "courtesy calls" that seemed to plague us often in Valley play finally came back to haunt our beloved Shocks today. Even so, the young Redbirds played their hearts out today and have some solid players. The Shocks will normally make those last two shots that fell just short today.

CU wins 99-71. They got to rest their starters for the last 8 minutes of the game. CU will probably win in a blow out tomorrow. I have been rooting for WSU and CU up until now. Tomorrow I am going to root for the Redbirds. I would like to see 3 Valley teams in the dance. Besides if the redbirds can beat Cu it will solidly put them into the top 100 helping our resume a little bit.

Won't Illinois State's RPI improve tomorrow whether they win or lose?

25% of your RPI is your own win-loss record, so no, it won't. Their opponents' record will improve, but not enough, this late in the season, to pull their RPI up with a loss.
Evansville couldn't hit shots in the first half. I didn't stick around for the second. When Evansville hits shots, they can be very good.
I never said Evansville cant be good. Going into this game, I thought they were very capable of beating CU and thought it would be a much much closer game. I watched both their games against CU in the regular season and know they can definitely play. That last game, even though they lost, was a fun game to watch. Ryan and Holmes together just couldnt miss. But Creighton actually played some D today and shut them down. They had 39 rebounds to Eville's 15. That was the stat that stuck out to me when I looked up the box scores. Ryan only shot for 13, which isnt terrible, but he averages 20 or so. Not saying that was all CU. They clearly were not hitting shots well even on some open looks but add in how well Creighton was shooting today...I found Creighton impressive today. Though Im still rooting for the Redbirds tomorrow ;)

Actually they are close enough that it could, but if they lose it won't be "solid". So they could possibly be at lets say 98 or 99 after a loss, but with so many teams playing next week there would be a good chance that they could fall back to 100+ by selection Sunday.
If they beat CU they should improve enough that they would stay in the top 100 after all of the games are played next week.
I just checked warren nolan, and our rpi dropped from 10 to 15 with the loss today but Cu dropped from 25 to 26 with their win today over UE. Illinois St is at 102.
