As to your comment that we always play hard other than one play from Tyson. We usually play hard, and we have several guys that seemingly always play hard (DD, Mo, Pleasant come to mind). However, there are several times each game where we have players standing and watching, usually during rebounds, but your defensive example is good too, and I’d like to start seeing examples made of these players immediately. That shouldn’t be acceptable imo, and it shouldn’t matter who they are.

Good points. I struggled with how to categorize the lapses you mention. Could be attributed to effort or lack of focus.

Fred, Ron, Tekele, and Evan benefited from a coach that never stopped pushing them. They were also the rare type of modern player who grew positively from abuse. Ever been to a Gregg Marshall practice? BUD/S might seem like a vacation in comparison.

UofA is like KU (snobby, we are the best university in this state blah blah) & Arizona State is kind of like Kansas State (party on…). UofA fans are generally arrogant s***heads…Be nice to see them pout on the Strip later that night. Give them Hell Shox!

Lloyd is a fake. This is a typical statement from an opposing coach trying to disguise his team's game plan and give his team a psychological advantage. Don't be fooled by this backhanded smirk compliment. Make no mistake he has not forgotten what Fred Vanvleet and Coach Marshall did to Gonzaga in the tournament. He wants his payback. . He is at Arizona now and they believe they are entitled bluebloods of college basketball.. But I hope to see the Shocks play better in this game. They have to if they want to win. And that means :

Stop turning the dam ball over. Many of the turnovers are unforced. Every possession is important. Que Grant stop throwing the ball away. Yikes those stupid one handed passes are killing us. RC4 stop driving to the cup when the paint is clogged with 4 defensive players. Scoring 1 against 4 is not going to work.. But we can count another spin move by him for a turnover. The Shocks must stop these silly knucklehead turnovers.

Second, every possession counts. Joe Plesant and others if you make a steal for a breakaway you must finish. Make it a 3 point play If you get fouled. Make the free throws. A miss here or there might not seem like much, but all the Shocks have to is remember the Drake game to know the consequences for missing free throws. Knock them down guys.

Glad to see MU fighting and scoring in the paint. But one of thse days before his career is over at WSU I hope to see him just ONCE immediately pass the ball back out to the player or someone else for a wide open 3 pointer. And if he would do this occasionally he might discover he has more room to operate in the paint. Why? Because the other team might stop double teaming him in the paint if they have to be concerned about the Shocks making 3 pointers. BUT because Arizona has big athletic strong front line I think they will guard MU and KP straight up. They say Koloko, Tubeless and Ballo are licking their chops to destroy the soft shocker front line.

Finally Defense and Rebounding travels. Don't make the mistake they made at Houston last year. Arizona has an elite offense and Shocks have to continue to play Defense and Rebound even if their shots are not falling. Every possession counts. National media doesn't give you any chance as usual. Show them what shocker basketball is all about. Go Shocks.
