If it will make you happy I’ll do a Vegas prediction. 1-1. Woopdy doo.

I wonder if anyone who is writing off the weekend as a failure already has watched any Arizona basketball this year or if they're just checking KenPom and the roster to see how tall everyone is.

That’s not to say I’ve watched AZ, I haven’t. We might get clobbered, we might not. I just don’t feel confident predicting how we’ll fare against a team I’ve never seen play before.

Absolutely. The Shocks must bow down to Arizona and acknowledge the great players and coaches of the Wildcats. Arizona is powerful and have destroyed their nonconference opponents. The Shocks simply cannot compete with Arizona. They are to big and athletic. We must admit to our soft Frontline and that Arizona have players that are outstanding shooters. It going to be a long night against this Pac 12 power.

Way to go out on a limb with that one.

Last night we were pressing too hard on the post play. You could tell the game plan was to take advantage of MU’s size advantage. Problem was that we’re not good at feeding the post and they were swarming MU like flies. The Arizona game plan will be different I’m sure. No clue what that will look like or the outcome.

For those that assume we will just get killed: Have you ever heard of “rising to the level of your opponent”?

It happens all the time, and in fact, it’s what an upset is made of actually. Go Shox

TSU knows they are short, and they use their quickness to swarm inside, both defensively, and rebounding. That provided us with a lot of open 3 opportunities, and we were better at that, this game, but their swarming, resulted in out rebounding our taller team. They gang rebounded and we didn't (we gang rebounded our first two games, and won that battle, but we didn't this game and lost that portion of the game). Additionally, Jamie knew not to put the ball on the floor (dribble), and just go straight up with the shot. Mo, Kenny, and our other players aren't good shooters without winding up before they jump. Fouls weren't called underneath the basket, and we didn't respond to their toughness.

Arizona won't play the same style. They will guard us better from the perimeter, thinking that their bigger players will be able to handle us underneath, 1 on 1. Our pressure defense may give Arizona some problems (I'm not sure how good their guards handle the ball) which may give us easy baskets, but we aren't consistently hitting easy baskets either. I'm not sure which Shocker 3 point shooting team will come to the game, but If we don't swarm the boards like we did the first two games, we won't be able to hang with them.

Zona did clobber NDSU, but according to some Wildcat fans on one of their boards, the Bison were without their starting PG (injury) and playing on short rest (lost by 2 to UNLV the night before).

I hear from Doc the mask Nazis are out in full force in Vegas. Cold is probably playing with himself while reading this.

Indeed, it is a Cold paradise here in Lost Wages.

I hate to make blanketed conclusions on minuscule observations but I’ve chatted with 4 people in the service industry since I’ve been here about staffing issues. This city is still very dead in comparison to normal, but everything seems to be short staffed and those working seem tired and stressed and under trained in a surprisingly high %.

The reason given every time? People on unemployment? People don’t want to work? Not enough pay?

The answer given every time, so many applicants can’t pass a drug test because weed is legal here. Unintended consequences.

The 40 year war on your money continues here as well. Every time I return yet another amenity is no longer available or is at a price. Not nearly as much fun as it used to be.

I got a call about wearing my mask in my room when housekeeping was on their way. In a city with so much diversity and noise, here’s another problem. Nobody can understand each other. So what do they end up doing? Just observe. Everyone leans in, gets closer than they ever would normally and starts either fiddling with their disgusting masks or takes the masks down so they can be heard. People and spittle at close range.

I know though, small price to pay to keep keyboard warriors safe in our new MuHrIcA

Have they announced where next year’s “holiday week” tournament the Shocks will be playing in?

Las Vegas is a city of lost souls, run by the soulless.

It is normally one of my favorite cities on this fine planet.
The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?

I thought I remember IB saying on radio show that KC was on the docket for next season, though I’ve seen no other info to confirm that or other teams that would be playing in that event.

It appears you have risen from a deep, dark sleep to a time of soulless bastards in powerful positions. Your dark spirit must be in a wretched mood.
