I think 2 is unrealistic barring some bizarre collapses. A 3 is possible and would be my realistic preference, however IF we are 3 seed material, I still feel like there is a likelihood that we get bumped to 4 because of our name...and I'd rather be a 6 than a 4/5 as I think we have a shot at some 3s and we avoid the 1/2 seeds longer.

4 seed is my hope for the same reasons @wufan: gave, but even if we win it all in St. Louis I bet they give us a 5. I don't have much faith in the committee.

Lunardi has us as a five seed now. If we win out, we will move up.

Five teams he has just ahead of us have recent losses. (Florida State, Louisville, Wisconsin, Georgetown and Indiana)

I would prefer WSU end up a 3 or 6. I think WSU can play with most of the 2 seeds (as it looks right now) but the projected 1s are pretty dang good. Either way, if we are worrying about playing a 1 or a 2 that means WSU has two tournament wins and anything after that is possible. I think WSU ends up a 5 seed unless there are some more losses by the teams above them, but could be a 6 if they lose in St. Louis to someone not named Creighton or UNI.

Sunflower seeds are my favorite. Pumpkin seeds are OK in a trail mix. Sesame seeds are good on buns. My grandmother made a super Poppy seed roll.

As far as an NCAA seed goes the higher the better. A 4 seed or better means we probably have won out through the MVC Tournament and I would love to see that.

What was San Diego State resume last year? As I recall they got a 3 seed. Just kind of curious how our resume looks right now looks compared to theirs last year.

                SDSU was a #2 seed.

Is expectation a better word here?

That's a good question. My preference is a 1 seed. :peaceful:

                      I would prefer a 3, but I expect a 4.

Thanks for the poll, Doc. To my mind 3 or 6 are essentially equivalent if you anticipate winning the first game -- not quite, because of the "protected" aspect of 3, for what that's worth, which I suspect isn't that much. But that anticipation can be dangerous, because #11 opponents are more likely to pick you off than #14s are, so a 3 is better, and that's what I'd like to see. In general, the longer a matchup with #1 can be postponed, the better -- although even there you'll find exceptions, such as KU playing a Valley team. No need to postpone that.

I think the fear of facing a 1 seed is being a little overplayed here.

Yes, UK and Syracuse look pretty dang good. However, the difference between facing KU, Mizzou, Duke, Michigan State, UNC and Ohio State is pretty negligible. Two of these teams will wind up as 1 seeds, While the other 4 have a good shot at obtaining a 2 seed. Most of them will continue to bounce in and out of 1 seed status in various projections over the next 2 weeks.

I want the highest seed we can get (at the moment, our ceiling seems to be a 3 seed). Wishing for a 6 seed instead of a 4 or 5 is silly- take the matchup that gives you the best chance of winning one game at a time.

A 3 seed would be nice, but realistically I see us ending up with the 4 seed. As long as we avoid the 5 seed and the 5/12 match-up, I'm okay.
