I'm Officially Sick of Being 'This Year's VCU'

I was replying to Dan (the comment above my post), not the OP. I get what the OP is saying. We're nothing like VCU last year. We're closer to what Butler was.

Butler was an 8 seed. I like @_kai_:'s comparison to SDSU, but alas, I am splitting hairs.

I'm not going to be disappointed if we don't get to the sweet 16. I think all this hype is setting a lot of people up for a big disappointment. Right now, I'm enjoying the ride for however long it lasts. If we can clinch the league outright and win the valley tourney, it will be a remarkable season for us. Someone tell me the last time we won both the league and the tourney? Forget the big dance for now, we have 2 big obstacles we're trying to overcome and I want to see us reach these milestones.

I think that all this publicity helps our recruiting. That might be the best aspect of it all. Even with the weird VCU comparisons.

All I know is, if stupid UCONN makes the tournament again and wins the Championship game with an abysmal 57 (?) points, I'll be angry. That game was BORRRRINNGGG.

But it'd be sweet to see us go far as well ;)

That was a pretty poorly played Championship game by both teams. A lot of pressure to deal with. That is another very significant factor in NCAA play. Which team can handle the pressure the best has a nice advantage.
