I went and looked at the UNM box score. I still think Gordon's 27 and 20 against UNLV was darn impressive. But when you consider it took him 20 shots in 36 minutes versus Ragland's 14 (32 minutes), and Joe's 7 boards are from a 6'0 PG, I think Joe's is just as impressive, especially in light of his 31 points ON JUST 12 FG ATTEMPTS against UNLV.

There is a nice comment about Ragland in the "What Have We Learned from Saturday" article on the ESPN site:

Anyway, before we move on, let's pause and reflect on the insane performance Joe Ragland unleashed Saturday. He scored 30 points and grabbed seven boards at the guard position. Even better? His points came on 11-of-14 from the field. He shot 3-of-4 from 3 and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. He was about as close to offensive perfection as a college basketball player can ever get. Bravo, sir.
This Saturday was always going to be a bit more underwhelming than recent weeks, but boy, did it end well. Once it ended, that is. Creighton students rushed the court before the game was officially over.

It also mentons WSU is playing some of the best ball in the country.

        From the UNM board:

Congrats guys.. hope not to run into WSU and Ragland in the tourney... There are about 60 teams I'd rather draw.

My point is this program's on a mission. Friends, family, even bandwagoners are welcomed...otherwise GTFOOOW.

I'd more than relish a Shocker vs Lobo final.

Drew Gordon is a terrific player also, and like Joe isn't the only terrific player the Shockers have, Drew has plenty of good company on the Lobos. Actually, getting a Shocker nominated for his kind of award is pretty rare because we usually do our damage with a lot of balance. Joe has had two great individual games this year (UNLV and Davidson) and many other very good games.

I would like to run into the Lobos in the Tournament but only at the approriate time. Shall we make it a date in the Elite Eight (or anytime thereafter if you prefer).

Good Luck to the Lobos and to all the teams outside of the inner circle of the BCS conferences.

:yahoo: EXACTLY. When you tempt a team/program on a mission, bad things will happen.
