I was hoping to get this result. Some people here were dissapointed we had to play Davidson, but the way I saw it, it was a chance to improve our RPI and our optics.

A very winnable game if we played well. And we did.

I think the optics have a much higher upside than the RPI. Anytime we can beat the $*!+ out of the other guy on national TV, it greatly improves our optics......... And we've done it twice in a week.........

And both times with Garrett having so-so games.

Onto ISU red and winning this thing outright.

This too will be a tough gig. However, if we shoot 63.6 from the field, I like our chances.

I was glad to see us turn it on the second half. I can't stand watching teams that try to flop their way to victory.

Here was our concern all Season with our beloved Shocks. Could our Fab 5 black and yellow Senior version of leadership, win the big games, even under the bright lights in the view of the masses? So far, so good!!!!!!!

I know some on here don't like BB and don't think it benefits us. I just don't get it.

1. It guarantees us a quality home and home without HCGM making a phone call.

2. It gives us a chance late in the year (this year) to play in a tough, unfamiliar place...just like we will have to do in the dance.

3. It gives us a chance to work on our seeding for the dance.

There is no down side to this...ever...and even if we would have lost...that's on us. It's all about taking advantage of opportunities.

I definitely agree with #1 and #2. #3 is true only if you win, but by this time in the season, you either put up or shut up, so YES! Another one I've always thought of is related to #2 - fairly short turnaround to scout and prepare for a team, like the tournament situation.

And national TV appearance

Only a few of the BB games get televised. If you're a favorable team or match-up, you get seen.

Overall, it has advantages, unfortunately, I think ESPN uses a whacked scheme to decide the match-ups - like they're TRYING to get upsets. I still think it is a shame we didn't draw Murray State, but this was a nice win and since we won, it doesn't hurt us and certainly helps the team and coaches adjust in a short time to an unknown match-up, like the tournament.

Davidson has an impressive team with a nifty fanbase. They never quit playing hard today and their fans were with them all the way to the end. I did not see them bailing out early like Creighton's fans did recently.

The last 4 games and lights out shooting is just remarkable. I keep telling myself that regardless who the team is, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, etc., shooting that well for 4 games straight is difficult to do and can't last. I'm being proved wrong and hope it stays that way. This team is white hot right now and I hope they can sustain this all the way into the NCAA's.

From a hype standpoint yes. But I actually thing Davidson at home was tougher matchup than Murray State would have been at their place.

In the eyes of the national though, Murray State is a bigger win.

The last 4 games and lights out shooting is just remarkable. I keep telling myself that regardless who the team is, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, etc., shooting that well for 4 games straight is difficult to do and can't last. I think this game's % is a direct result of the number of layups we shot. I know when we were in the 50's they commented that we had gotten like 38 of those in the paint. Makes you look like a real good shooting team when you're getting those types of shots.

New Mexico playing vey well right now. UNLV, UNM and SDS all look like they will probably be Dancing with The Stars.

Of course, right now one of those Stars is the Wichita State Shockers

That's why I said Murray State would be better from a hype standpoint. But my actual point remians. I think Davidson is a better team then Murray State, especially at home.
