  • Jason King - ESPN - K-State is thrid best team in Kansas by far...

Jason King is on 810 WHB right now, talking BB.

Kietzman asked him is KSU is the third best team in Kansas - King: Yes by far.

Additionally, he says KU would be -3 in Wichta and -7 on a neutral court against WSU.

Mizzou would be a tougher road game than WSU, but WSU would be a very tough game for KU

Unfortunately he also says our coach is a month away from a $2 million plus job offer...

Didn't coach have a 1.9 million offer last year?

I thought it came out to around $1.2, but I could be wrong.. $750K salary plus an bonus of $400-$500K that increases by $100k each year.

Let's hope that ADES has been hoarding money in a secret safe that has a warning sign on it that states "Only open in case of coaching emergency."

I think he makes 1.2 here. I believe someone offered him 1.9 last year. I expect similar offers in the near future.

More comments about WSU - Mizzou match up. WSU would provide a very tough match up with Mizzou.

Says we have as good or better athletes, but thinks Mizzou's players are just a little bit better...

I think that you are low too although closer. Last spring, I think that he signed a new contract for 900K with 100K bonus per year. 900K + 100k x 5 years = 1.4. This contract lasts through 2018 and includes other bonuses for winning, etc. He was offered 1.9 at NC State and turned it down. At a minimum with his new bonus of 100k for next year, he'll be making 1.5.

Coach makes 900k + 100k per year here plus a few side incentives.

NCSU was said to be "willing" to offer a candidate as high as $1.9 million last year, but the rumored offer to GGG was $1.2-1.3 Million. Some of their fans were frustrated at the time and felt that their AD had low-balled him.

He was referring to NC State offering 1.9 to coach. Bad number. He might have taken 1.8.

Should Marshall leave WSU before his contract expires, he must pay WSU $325,000 within 30 days.
Pretty inexpensive buyout, but 3G was definitely had the stronger had in these negotiations.

Some nimrod who covers college basketball in Indiana called us one of the last four in.

                          Hopefully, Kai set him straight.
