  • The Dana Altman Butterfly Effect

Interesting thread from Todd Golden about the old MVC and its upheaval in the past decade.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Is his point some type of algebra equation that I'm missing? I was never good at algebra.

Welp. That’s a good read to get me in the mood to do some laundry.

No, as soon as he does something meaningful that might change.

I believe in it - I farted the other day and there was a huge "butterfly affect" as people tried to move away from me as fast as possible

I think that qualifies as a "domino effect", or perhaps even "every action has an equal and opposite reaction".

crop dusting is way less effective with all these masks

I wear three, but I make sure each level of mask is of a unique cut and profile so that is 100% evident to everyone around me that I am a multi-mask wearer.

But with all the same micron rating, because a really thick 10 micron filter is so much better than a thinner one...
