It's a mock selection process too...they throw a few wrinkles such as upsets in conf tourneys....the 13 seed of MSU would indicate the won arch madness in the mock process

If this was posted elsewhere, sorry--

Joe Lunardi talks about Murray State, Wichita State, and the last four teams that will make the NCAA tournament and the first four teams out.

2011-2012 Men's College Basketball Bracket Projection: A prediction of the 68 teams (31 automatic bids and 37 at-large bids) that will participate in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Has us as a 6 in Albuquerque against St. Louis. That would be a tough matchup, but I think Baylor is a 3 seed we could handle.

So yeah, I don't mind seeing CU or any MVC team make a Sweet Sixteen run. My dislike for their fan base isn't worth six figures.
Besides just the additional money, being in a conference that gets multiple bids helps us get better coaches and keep them longer (ie-Marshall) and helps us with recruiting.

That bracket would stink for us. If we have to play a #1 in the sweet 16, I just don't want it to be Kentucky or Syracuse. If we had Missouri, I'd be jumping for joy. I'd almost rather be a 6 than a 4, because the difference between playing a 5 or a 3 in the round of 32 is much less than the difference between playing a 1 or a 2 in the sweet 16 (particularly if its Syracuse or Kentucky). Now if we can get up to a 3 seed, that would obviously trump everything else.

Portland would not be an easy drive. I'm hoping he's wrong on this one.

I understand the sentiment. I'm the same way with some teams. I couldn't support the Chiefs even if they were playing Al Queda.

I am still hoping for a 3 seed. I think it is very doable if we keep winning. But beating Illinois St in Normal won't be easy. They are a very good team at home (and a lousy one on the road).

I've heard several times that MO and KU will be protected to Omaha. Louisville is just about as close to Columbia as Omaha. I don't think that it's a sure thing that they are sent there. It is a sure thing for KU.

Louiville is about 45min farther than omaha from columbia. We need KU to smash MO and hopefully that will move MO to a 2 seed and send them to Louisville and that will open up omaha for wsu as a 3 or 4 seed

I get the sense we won't be afforded the privilege of playing in Omaha...I'd settle for Albequerque.

I would rather go to Nashville, same time zone.
