Opportunity time once again for our Shocks. Not sure if that is good or bad, but one of these days we are not only going to walk through that door but we are going to break it down. Let's hope we have a strong stretch run in us beginning tomorrow night vs UNI.

Doesn't count - four were at half court for the dance-off during the last time out . . .

A buddy of mine once walked up on a fight with 2 guys from a rival school. He grabbed the guy winning and popped him in the mouth. Then he grabbed the dude losing and popped him in the mouth. Likewise, the Shocks need to beat everybody left possible standing here for us not to get short-changed in the end. We have some of our toughest games left, but they are winnable if we take care of our business. It becomes all about survival, playing and beating one team at a time, or as close to perfect as we possibly can. Sometimes it comes down to peaking at the right time and finishing strong. Right now,our Mission Possible is destination 21st and Hillside, and beating NIU. As we have chronicled on here before, our biggest game of the Season now becomes our next game and then the next, etc.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I've seen pics of the students storming the court. WSU puts more students on the floor when they honor the athletes on the Dean's list.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Yes! I really didn't want the help tonight. Let's hope we don't take tomorrow for granted.

UE beating CU just makes CU look weak and our league look weak. It also hurts CU's seeding (hopefully in the end it doesn't keep them out of the dance, I am not worried about that yet). and our chances of getting into the top 25.

By the way. We will take all of the help we can get and we thank UE tonight. However, in the scheme of things, we can't let our guard down and we need to first and foremost help our own cause!!!!!!!

You wanted a team tied with us in the standings to win? This gives us more wiggle room. The odds of winning in Omaha are slim so I'll take the loss whenever, wherever.

We won there last year...we can do it again. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, we have a business meeting tomorrow night.

Yes I did. I want to beat the best. It really takes some luster off the game, now that they have lost to UE.

I also want us ranked in the top 25 and I want us to get into the dance with the best possible seed. I just think all of that took a little hit tonight.

I also would like our league to have at least 2 strong teams in the dance (being in a one bid league is pretty much worthless). It helps our program in the long run (it is hard to recruit kids to play in a one-bid league) and it helps us financially. The only money that the MVC creates is from the ncaa tournament appearances by its teams.

Also losing 2 in a row, just before they play us also makes CU play that much harder against us and will make it harder for us to beat them. A win that I really want.

It is kind of like when we played CU the first time. It was right after CU lost to MoST. They came in and beat us in Wichita. They had their backs against the wall and they will again.

Cu losing to UNI was okay. It helped us. I was happy. Cu losing two in a row just before they play us and it being against a team that will give them a bad loss that is not good in my book.

I just hope we are ready to win tomorrow and extra ready to play so that we can win on Saturday.

Creighton is still the beast and that game Saturday is still just as huge. I just hope we win tomorrow!

Dejavu of '06. Hope this team takes advantage of the "help" like that team did!

We don't need eggs in our beer. We are in a dogfight for first and are getting some unexpected help along the way. Thus, we won't look a gift horse in the mouth but rather find a way to glove up and bag the panthers first, then on to Creighton. No way do we want bluejays sweeping us and they will have the eye of the tiger mentality after this shock treatment they received tonight. We win both of these games, then we will have a nice surpass.

Serious question.... If we beat uni, and lose at creighton and end the season tied with creighton arent we both co-champions or is there a tie breaker? I know there is a tie breaker for seeding the mvc tourny in which Creighton woulde get #1.

                                1st tiebreaker is always head-to-head.
