Matthew Perrault has become as irrelevant as cassette tapes. I'm sure half of his twitter "followers" are aliases he has made up. He is entering the downward spiral. He tries his mightiest to get under people's skin and become a talking piece, but he's just not creative or important enough to care.
That Rivals' site activity is some really funny ****.
You're not going to lose tonight, but nevertheless, why wouldn't it matter if you did? CU can still beat WSU Saturday and win the conference on head to head. That doesn't make any sense.
If we lost tonight, that would be back to back losses and I would worry about the team's psyche at that point.
Fans got sick of Matty P's site and requested someone make a new one. It's been up a few months now and much more popular than the Rivals site. The Rivals site only has a couple of posters who have been around for awhile, most are new and probably created by MP to make it look like his site is still active. It makes me smile to know his Rivals site is a failure.
Love the site guys and here is how I look at the rivalry with WSU.
When Gregg got to town you guys were obviously rebuilding and towards the bottom, we were still at the top and considered SIU our top rival, the team we HAD to beat every season. Then the whole Matt P phone interview, the Booker shot, and a lot of hate from you guys started brewing a little rivalry. Obviously for a rivalry to be a great rivalry the teams need to be on top, look at Bradley and ISU Red, they claim to have this great rivalry but no one outside of Bloomington and Peroria give two shi#s because they suck. CU vs SIU had gameday show up for their game, people knew that was the game in the MVC.
Now you have SIU in the tank, CU back on top and WSU right there as well, I think it is official to say you have replaced SIU, I still hate you SOBs but I respect you and I want you to win for the Valley, that is what makes it great this year is the mutual respect for each program, wanting to see eachother win to set up that epic match up. Its to where the SIU vs CU rivalry was and hopefully we can grow it to the point where Gameday is at the Koch or Link one day.
Also looking at the Arch Madness ticket numbers shows that this is a rivalry, if we both can get to Sunday I am expecting 20,000 at the Scottrade Center.
As for Matty P I will admit he had us hook line and sinker because right away he covered the Jays more than the idiots down I-80 and actually spoke the truth about little red, for example people in this state believe if herbie is 9-3 they could win a national championship, pure morons down there. He had us suckered and we defended him, then he tried the whole rivals stunt and that bandwagon emptied fast. All Jays fans now know the true weasel he is and probably honestly hate him more than you guys. Guy is a pure idiot and should have nothing to do with our program.
As for baseball, you guys can kiss our ***, no mutual respect there after breaking my heart in 1991, I still hate that throw and that a-hole Mirabelli with the perfect tag. Seriously though I feel like CU and WSU could dominate Baseball and Basketball in the Valley for a while from now on.
Good, well thought out post. Appreciate the comments, even with a tinge of CU Blue.
Not so sure about baseball. Gene seems destined to bring the Shox program full circle to the disaster it was when he took over. The caveat would be that if he decides to bow out before things get really bad and the Shox can bring in some fresh attitude and perspective, the baseball program can be something special again.

Tonights CU at UE basketball game is not on TV nor is it available at espn3. This is the first time in a long time that I haven't been able to watch a CU basketball game on TV or on the net for free (it is available for $6.95 on the net through the UE web-site, but I am not that interested enough to pay to see it).
Thanks! Good Idea. I mostly just listen anyway when I watch basketball (other than WSU) on TV or net. I usually do other things while I have the games on, so I am not really watching them anyway.
