KANSAS CITY (14-2) vs. TAMPA BAY (11-5)
KC -3
SERIES: Mahomes vs. Brady (Tied 2-2)
LAST: Nov. 29 2020 in Tampa Bay (CHIEFS, 27-24)
GAME RECAP: Kansas City was a slight favorite headed into this matchup and the new-look Brady Buccaneers proved a worthy adversary for perhaps the hottest team in professional football. Offense abounded from the very start for the Chiefs, and an unbelievable volume of passing yards in the first quarter had Patrick Mahomes in control wire to wire.
In gear for the last five weeks of their season, the team looks indomitable when their defense turns out even average performances like they managed this week. An improvement from weeks past, Kansas City will be able to make a lot of noise in the playoffs if they play as they did this week later in the season.
In a game totally dominated by the Chiefs’ unstoppable offense, Kansas City made mincemeat of the Buccaneers defense in all four quarters. The torrid pace they set in the first quarter gave way to a blowout, and it was clear from the opening drive that this was going to be a signature win.
All the usual suspects on offense helped carry the Chiefs to their 10th win of the season, but a solid game defensively was particularly refreshing after the poor performances in recent weeks. This game will serve as just another feather in the cap of a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
