Wichita State vs.Tulane Game Thread 2-3-21

I am glad we won. But I am disgusted with this team lack of defense. Their guards just went to the cup all night. I am sorry but that is bullsht. I thought I was watching the Memphis game all over again. Did any our guards get a charging call made on a Tulane player? Hell no.!!!! Thats because they were nowhere to be found guarding a Tulane player.

The players seemed happy after the game . That tells me a total lack of understanding on how bad they played. But hey we got the win. If these guys want more 5han wins against teams like Tulane they better up their game.

I dont think being visibly relieved to end up with a win is some statement that they aren't capable of beating teams better than Tulane. A 10-4 (6-2) team that's in sole possession of 2nd place of the AAC ....

Just because they aren't visibly getting ripped on the sideline or don't look like they hate their lives if they don't play perfect or the coach doesn't throw a temper tantrum tossing chairs to get to the locker room doesn't mean they aren't taking improvement serious.

I’m old enough to remember when a home loss to Evansville cost us a share of the regular season Valley championship. We got swept by them that year.

So, while I’m not happy about the way we finished the game, I recognize that it certainly could have been worse.

We do need to figure out a way to maintain our defense, rebounding, and shot selection regardless of score if we want to finish the year strong.

The ass chewing you all want sounds like it’s coming.

Nobody here expected to finish that low did they? I know amongst my friends I was saying no worse than 4th and a shot at 1st if things came together.

I also expected the AAC to be a bit stronger than it seems to be

I wonder if his knee is still swelling up otherwise I think he would be getting more minutes. I thought we played pretty well until we got up 21. They started taking dumb 3 point shots and quit playing defense.

I thought he’s looked shaky and kind of lethargic in his minutes lately. Certainly not a game Mo or Poor Bear will put in their highlight tape but they’ve got the experience and health over him.

Might’ve been the best game of the year for Gilbert. I don’t remember seeing any aimless drives or jacked up shots :03 into the shot clock. Coaching?

This team gives me so many mixed emotions. I expected a C. Actual grade is a B-, but for some reason I'm pissed. A little more attention to detail and it would be a B+ with an A- in reach
