  • Lutz Expresses His Stutz Man Crush

I think Stutz is finally developing coordination of all 7 feet. He's made huge advances even from the first of the season. With the variety of skills he's showing, his shooting touch, and his continued progress and development, I think he could be a second round NBA pick. I think someone is going to want him on their roster to see where he will be in another year or two.

Stutz may suffer from the chance taken on Patrick O'Bryant. I admit that I don't pay attention to the NBA but I assume POB didn't stick.

Though Garrett is certainly a much more skilled and developed player. Who knows?

O'Bryant stuck in the NBA for 4 years, and is playing in Greece now. He played in a total of 90 games in the 4 years.

Stutz will have the opportunity to make a lot of money playing professional basketball, no idea if he wants to. I doubt that it will be in the NBA, but I'm sure that he will be in a camp, drafted or undrafted. He and POB are completely different players, btw.

His offensive game is very good. Can always improve and polish but its something everyone noticed his freshman year. Can go to both shoulders. Probably needs to work on his mid-range game to make it in the NBA.

His biggest knock as far as I am concerned is his defense. He shys away from the ball alot.

The fact that he has size, touch around the basket, rebounds well, and biggest of all has a natural outside shot, will make the scouts look at him big time. The biggest draw to Stutz right now, imo is his ability to shoot a 3. It's not very effective, but he has the ability. Put him in an NBA practice environment, and have someone work on his shot, and he shoots 3 after 3 for 8 months straight... He has so much upside from an NBA perspective.

If he goes to Europe, I won't be surprised. If he gets picked up by an NBA team, practices with them, and actually gets a roster spot, I won't be that surprised either.

That should be perfect for the NBA then!! Everyone knows they don't play defense until the playoffs!!

While a very good player my opinion is he is too slow for NBA. Be cool to see him get drafted and play in the NBA though!

Anthony Tolliver is a successful NBA player, so there is hope for Stutz. His range will help him.

No, but I would rate it spectacular by Garrett's standards, but average at best by NBA standards. Some of the stuff those guys do is just mind-boggling.

The dunk was a departure from his normal game. That's what made is so cool. How many of us had a double take on that dunk? He did pull himself up which made it appear that he got more air. But I thought Thomasson had snuck on the court. I am really proud of Stutz. Couldn't be happening to a better kid/man. I hope his family is enjoying the ride.

He shys away because the MVC refs call a foul when he looks at people. If he were allowed to play defense like smaller players do and didn't have to worry about foul problems, he would be much more aggessive IMHO. Shying away is his way of staying out of foul trouble.

He didn't bring up WSU-KU like he does after.every.WSU.game. on sports talk?.. just "all KU has to do beat them is show up" ad nauseum I ask because I don't read his pishdip anymore.

If not for McDermott< Stutz would be MVC POY. There can't be any argument by now that he deserves to be first team all-MVC. Most of his MVC counterparts will score above their average against him, true.. but still.. he deserves a spot on ALL-MVC first-team.
