I'll take a few more Cleanthony Early's with a side of Green. Goes great with some Van Vleet sauce!"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden

What I do not have a good feel for is what is the quality of basketball and athlete at the D-III JUCO level? How big a jump is it from this level of ball to D-1 basketball in a pretty physical league? How long will it take Cleanthony to adjust?
The last question is somewhat rhetorical since there is now way to know for sure, but we will find out first hand next year.

1.) Early is much bigger than I thought. With some time in the weight room at WSU under our regimen he'll be absolutely beastly his Sr. year.
2.) Did anyone else notice the ball handling skill where he dribbled behind his back like that's just an every day part of his game? Then the dish for the assist? WOW!
3.) The 3 pointer he made, shows he even has a deep game.
I'd read the reports that he was legitimately looked at by NBA scouts, and always kind of felt hesitant to really think that had much merit, but holy cow, after watching that short clip I can totally see why. Tall, physical, good handles for 6'8", shoots well, and is dynamic when he dunks.
He's basically someone with as good of a skill set or maybe better than Toure, with the body size of Carl Hall.
I. Am. Ecstatic.

What I do know is this: It's a great time to be a Shocker Fan. If we were a stock, I'd put a strong buy recommendation for anyone wanting to invest.

We'll be a better team if Early is able to play the 3.
I still like a starting lineup of Ehimen, Hall, Early, Williams and Armstead.
White comes in and Hall slides to the 5. Wessel and Baker can come in and play the 2/3 spots with Cotton sharing time at 1/2.
If One of Hawkins/Green can earn PT then watch out as well. If Early is playing the 4, we're going to go with a less post oriented offense and essentially be running 4 guards which could work with some of our size on the wing.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

The competition level might not be that of a D-1 university, but if his skills are high enough he will transition well to any level play.
