I don't think I would pay to sit there. Decent upper bowl seats are $22 to $28.

They may have priced the Wichita State tickets higher this year, I don't know. There is huge interest, I know they are bringing out all of the temporary risers that go in front of the Bud Bowl and it is possible that there will be many more than 18,000 at the game. From what I understand, 16,500 will be the bottom number for any remaining games. It's nice to see really big crowds but it makes getting out of downtown a pain.

Considering what Wichita State and Creighton charge and get for their seats, I find it humorous that these two teams play in a conference where other fans ***** about ticket prices. It is not uncommon for other Valley teams to have $99 season tickets. Even in Cedar Falls, that is an entertainment bargain that is hard to beat. At that rate, there is no reason they can't sell 7,000 tickets for every game, their excuses don't add up.

Here is a few post from Panthernation:

This is the norm for them, they as fans ***** about the arena being half full and they ***** about ticket prices being too high. But in reality, season tickets at UNI are just $99!!!! http://ev12.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncomm...upCode=MB&cgc=
I paid $12 for the WSU-Creighton game last year in Omaha. My seats were in the upper bowl but they were in the first row of the upper deck behind the basket (above the students). They actually were pretty good seats. I imagine the upper bowl seats at mid-court cost more.

If I wasn't so concerned with getting charged with assault, I would have gladly turned around and broke the kid's jaw. When we started going into that slump with the refs help, he started chanting "NIT!" *clap clap clap-clap-clap*

He got a lot of nasty stares throughout the game...

I know people that are in the upper bowl and pay more, but it wouldn't surprise me if endzone seats are cheaper. I've never sat in the endzone for any event at the Qwest, errrrr Century Link Center. I am in the lower bowl even with the baseline facing the Creighton bench. $30. Whether or not either Creighton or Wichita State slips up before the tilt in Omaha, this is as anticipated of a game as I can remember going back to a Saluki game several years ago. I venture to say that the scalpers are going to make some cabbage on this game.

Anyone from Wichita in Omaha for the game PM me, I'll buy you a beer (Not at the game, too expensive.)
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

The guy wouldn’t have the gonads to act like that back in my day. Seriously, he would have been beat to a pulp. Today, society tells us to ignore the jacka$$... if we touch him, we might get sued. Anyway, thank God he wasn't in my section... I'd have come at him like a ‘crazed’ spider monkey.

Why do people like that come to the games if they don't like the team? I hate KU, but I wouldn't buy a ticket to their game and go and sit and bad mouth their team in their house when my team wasn't even playing there... what an idiot!

Hmm.. It's been awhile since I've been to game at Bramlage. I believe the last time I was there, KU beat them by 20 or so and the rock chalk chant was echoing around the building.. lol.. From what I remember though, the sound just doesn't sound right in the bram.. KSU has all these huge speakers above the score board, the sound is a bit much if u ask me. And, I maybe wrong, but is their student section miked? This was a long time ago, but maybe it's because their student section is so large? Could of sworn it was miked though. The noise in Koch is fine, the student section could be more of a force.. But seriously, football is the big deal at KSU for more reasons than just their success. If I were a basketball season ticket holder at KSU, I would get headaches from the seemingly out of place noise level.. lots of headaches.

It is really sad when the only time Koch Arena is loud is when they put that stupid "noise meter" up on the screen. Who gives a flying $hit if you make noise during a timeout if you are silent as a a cat about to pounce on a mouse. Who cares what they do during timeouts and that they have a sponsor for every single one and that people dance around like complete idiots. Make noise DURING THE ACTUAL PLAY OF THE GAME! Clap, yell, whistle, do the football "ohhhhhhhh" thing. Whatever. I hate it when we are on defense and you can hear the coaches yelling out instructions, or the players calling out a play. PISSES ME OFF.
If you wish to say "some of the 8500 season ticket holders", I'll give you a pass. You make an arguement with no merit otherwise. I know who most of the season ticket holders are around us and they all stand and clap, even my 88 year old dad. I'm also not the only one to rise out of my seat and yell for a good play or to give a ref a bad time. There are a number of season ticket holders who are the heart, spirit, and backbone of the basketball program and I'm not including myself in that fine group, not even close. They are very special people, so please be careful of who you are ashamed of and who pisses you off.

Tickets for this year's WSU-CU game in the Shocker area (sections 223 and 224) are $12. If you have someone who can pick up the tickets in person at the Bluejay ticket office, I believe there is no handling fee. If you buy them online the handling fee is $5.55 per ticket.

To get tickets in sections 223 or 224 you will probably have to order by phone: 1-800-745-3000. Be patient if ordering by phone, this is a ticketmaster call center (probably located in India). When I called they didn't even know Creighton let alone Witch-eee-tah, as the guy repeated it back to me. You need to tell them the exact details (February 11 at Century Link Center 4:05pm) or you may end up with tickets to a tractor pull.

Before the game, Wu Shock was shooting three pointers and halfcourt shots. That probably would have been the best halfcourt entertainment so far this season (minus the frisbee dogs)

He is probably looking at an area like the one around us where most people do stand (but the number who don't keeps growing) but few clap. And most of the ones who do clap are only going through the motions.

It didn't used to be like this. I am not sure why the tradition of standing and clapping until the other team scores is slipping but in my area is is barely holding on at all.

I do think I noticed a big drop when they quit doing "dudley" right up until the game started. But now a lot of them don't even clap to dudley, let alone keep going once it stops and they switch to the "let's get ready to rumble" music.

Just because someone donates a big chunk of money and has been buying tickets forever doesn't make them a worthy Shocker fan. C'mon man, if you have tickets make sure they get used.
KU started doing this and it has made a big difference I think. They also made is super easy to either donate or sell your tickets if you aren't going to use them. Last year I had season tickets and didn't make it to a bunch of games and at the end of the year I got over $1,000 back from my unused tickets.

It is harder to see unused tickets in Allen because you don't actually get a seat but it is very rare to see any open seats other than at the very top of the expansion metal bleachers.

I went to the A&M game on Monday night and it was standing room only.

We have a top tier team. Being a top-tier program means every facet of the program is top-tier. Our coaches and players are there, marketing needs to catch up. We have lowered our standards this year with the BatWU video (too long and weak graphics) and the timeout/halftime entertainment. A guy bouncing ping pong balls into a bucket on his head doesn't do much for me except make me want to hang my head in shame.

We have blown teams out this year which does make it tough for people to stay and watch. I stay to the end of every game, always have, always will (except one game where we were playing so terrible I had to leave so I didn't have a coronary....this was several years ago). Shocker basketball means a lot to my family. I was at the UNLV game and I don't remember that many empty seats. I was there last night and the empty seats were in the students section. It was a Wednesday night when many students have class. It wasn't that shocking.

I'm going to throw something out that will piss off most of the forum members and it's not what I personally believe but, is it possible some people have given up wanting to support a team that can go 26-9 but get stuck in the NIT when "majors" make it in with .500 records (in their own conference)? I admit, at the beginning of this season I told my wife "The NIT isn't good enough any more." The NIT doesn't excite me. We say we are a top-tier team and want to be a top program. The banners hanging from the rafters don't necessarily reflect that as reality. Top-tier teams go to the NCAA's.

The coaches and players are doing their part, it's time for the rest of us to demand the same from all aspects of our program including the student section, marketing (please, spend some of the SASO money I am paying on something, anything other than the GD red cups and GD ping pong balls) and fans.

                              Go ahead, fire away.

I think officiating is part of it. Back in the day you could count on horrible refs every night that hated the Shocks. And we all had particular refs we loved to hate. Well now we have better refs so there is not much to yell at the refs about (last night excepted). Nothing gets Shocker fans fired up like bad refs...
