February marks the start of the grinder. Mentally and physically teams are going to start to wear down or hit the wall. Misery State looks tired to me. WSU and Cu are the 2 deepest teams in the Valley this year. I will be disappointed if both teams don't win out until they meet in Omaha. Then hopefully we can shoot the ball a little better than we did here at Koch.

We have enough depth to not get physically so worn out during the February meat grinder. If we bring Mental Toughness to every game, katy bar the door, it could be a really fun ride.

I would feel better about our stamina and overall chances if Garrett weren't nursing the back injury. Getting him back near 100% would be a real plus for the stretch run.

The odd schedule (done with SIU, Bradley, EU and 2 left vs MoSt, Drake) skews the standings a little. Are the Shocks perfect because of the schedule, or are Drake and MoSt hanging around because they haven't played the Shocks yet?

It is certainly better sitting at the top looking down vs. trying to claw back into the mix. Top one or two finish with a revenge win vs. sCUm are my desires.

I can guarantee you that on February 11th, the Shiockers will be up for the Creighton game, and looking for revenge. Hopefully, Marshall will have implemented a few changes in playing Creighton that will help us get over the top.
