After last night's heroics by our own Toure' Murry, there are now 24 teams who have as good or better win/loss percentage as the Wichita State Shockers. Of the 24 teams, only 8 have a better Strength-of-schedule (SOS) than WSU. They are:

      Duke
      Syracuse
      Kansas
      Baylor
      Illinois
      Ohio State
      UNLV
      North Carolina
      AP has this list at 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 14 (UNLV), and 22.

Please keep in mind, you also have those schools who have a worse SoS, but a better record....think Kentucky and Missouri, even undefeated Murray St as a few. You have even many more who have better SoS who: 1) have the same number of losses, but have played 1 or 2 fewer games(Gonzaga, Georgetown), or 2) who have lost more games than WSU, but have a much higher SoS (WVU, Seton Hall, and at least 6-7 more).

What's key is that we are now in a position to be in that discussion of being ranked, barring a quick and/or bad stumble.

Murray State dropped to 28 last night and are projected to fall to the mid 30s, and that's IF they remain perfect. Still, as each day passes, it appears the BB game will help and not hurt the RPI, SOS and resume.

We just have to continue to get better, and win. In a useless piece of information, RTRPI predicts WSU with no more road wins the rest of the season.

Of course, they had us 7 point dogs at UNI, too.

If we get Murray State, I hope they're undefeated when we play them, it would be a nice matchup on national tv, with lots of coverage. The downside is that if we do play them, even if they're undefeated, and they happen to lose a game after ours, it will most likely be to a team with a horrible rpi. I still think they're the best team to give us a chance at either cracking the top25, and if we're already ranked by the time we play them, it will be a huge matchup at the time.
