If Ragland is 85+% the shox win semi-comfortably 74-66. Ragland less than that and its a dog fight. Nothing against Demetric at all, WSU just needs the extra playmaking ability and the extra sub. I think Demetric will play well and hopefully Kyles keeps the stroke goin.
Has anyone seen Ben Smith lately? Other than his couple of shots Friday he has been MIA. I try and pay as close attention away from the ball as possible, but can't really say that I have noticed if he is spending most of his energy on defense or if teams are taking him away. I know he is 90% one demensional, but still... just an observation.-Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind-
GO SHOX!

Last Season, the Trees worked very, very, very hard in our games to offer the outside shots for us for free and packed the inside to make it difficult for us to get the ball inside. Their starters are not a very tall unit this Season. Also, much has been said about stopping Odum's penetration and I concur. However, Rags did a great job driving for the easy hoops versus Illinois State in the 1st half. But hark, they switched defenders and slowed that "Gravy Train" down to almost a sudden halt in the 2nd half. D-Will has also been driving in all the way for some easy layups. Let's hope we can establish this more so than they do tonight. They will dangle the carrot for us early on, offering us to shoot oodles of 3's. Unless we want "eggs in our beer", we will play the better odds and establish our awesome inside game first and foremost.
The Shockers really click when Hall and Stutz are first established inside. Next thing you know when that happens, Rags and DWill start driving in for some easy high percentage shots which then opens up some open 3 ball shots that are like playing HORSE. These three facets all prevail when we are hitting on all cylinders on these nice runs we have enjoyed. Thus tonight on the U, we all long for us to keep Hall and Stutz out of foul trouble and focus to outfight the Trees to get our bigs established inside. If so, mark it down as a W. Otherwise, life on the road can get ugly and offers obstacles that cause teams to stub their toe.
Last but not least, we need to really take care of some business when we play on the U. These rare opportunities are like "pulling hens teeth" to receive and we need to make the very best of them. Just win and keep improving Shox!!!!!!! A 1 point ugly win is better than any loss I can think of.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I penciled in wins for both the Shockers and the Bluejays this morning. But the way things have turned out today, UNI losing to Bradley and the Hillbillies losing to the Aces, I'm concerned for both teams. With that, I see the Shockers winning by five to seven. Even though I live in Omaha, I'll be pissed if the Shockers lose. Bluebirds and Shockers need to take care of business tonight to keep multiple bids alive. There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Tree fans re saying that Odum's injury is bothering him a lot more than they expected. I think scouting has hurt Odum's game more than Tree fans expected. Odum is effective, but he's no superstar.
InSU is worse from 3 than the Shox. InSU gives up a higher percentage overall and from three than they shoot. The Shox give up lower percentages than they shoot. InSU has more TO's than assists (205/220). The Shox have more assists than turnovers (256/224). The raw TO numbers are about equal for both teams. The Shox are averaging 3+ more assists per game than the Trees.
InSU is exactly 0 in rebound margin (542/542). The Shox are winning the rebounding battles (671/522). That's a huge stat right there. Shox should get more poessessions and more shots than the Trees. The Shox are better shooting (47.8%) than the Trees (42.8%).
I don't think WSU's front court is going to have problems with Kitchell (6-10, 225 Fr), Mahurin (6'8", 210 So) and Walker (6'8", 250Sr). Walker should be the leader of that group, but he's only getting 8.2 points and 4.2 boards.
InSU goin' down
WSU - 76
InSU - 65
The mid-second-half letdown will let the Trees appear to get back into it, but WSU will pull away late, building a modest lead to 11 at the FT line. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
