The 32-team field has been selected for this years’ “GOAT Shocker Lore Tournament”. The SC is now following our predetermined protocols for seeding and bracketing. These protocols are based on an extensive season-long evaluation of teams through historical recollections, watching games, monitoring press coverage, and our secret advisory committee member’s rankings. Also, to avoid coaches from playing themselves in the First and Second rounds, teams may be moved up/down a seed-line.

the 2013-14 team (led by Gregg Marshall) playing in the YELLOW REGION
The team completed the season “Undefeated” in nonconference, conference games, and as well as MVC Tournament. They advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
Key Players included: Cleanthony Early, Ron Baker, Fred VanVleet, and Tekele Cotton
Final record 35-1 (97.2%)

The second #1 seed is:
the 2014-15 team (once again, led by Gregg Marshall) playing in the BLACK REGION.
This team finished in 1^st place in the MVC. They also advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
Key Players included: Ron Baker, Fred VanVleet, and Tekele Cotton
Final record 30-5 (85.7%)

the 2016-17 team (led by Gregg Marshall) playing in the WHITE REGION
This team finished in a tie for 1^st place in the MVC as well as were MVC Tournament Champions. They also advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.

Final record 31-5 (86.1%)

the 1964-65 team (led by Gary Thompson) playing in the GREY REGION
This team finished 1^st in the MVC and advanced all the way to the NCAA Final Four.
