Sorry for the diversion -- back to our regularly scheduled topic, count me among those glad to see MSU win. Yes, it hurts Creighton's image a bit, but it also gives them a home loss that may be important later. Of course, the Shocks now have to avoid having the same thing happen on Saturday, and the Jays may come in a bit desperate to avoid starting off 0-2. So it's a mixed blessing, but I still think that on balance it's good news, even though it gave Weems a chance to be at his most obnoxious.

In light of the Xavier-Cincy brawl, this probably isn't politically correct, but I wish someone would pop Weems in the suck hole. Too bad we can't suit up the Thunder enforcer that one punched that clown last night.

That may have been the only game ever that I was actually rooting for Weems. I think we will be surprised at how important that specific loss is for CU.

We beat them Saturday and we are in the driver's seat for this race. Would have rather they won though. This is a,good Creighton team and the idea of them losing two in a row to start the season is not going to sit well with them. This will not be a replay of last night. I love it!

I have to take the opposite view. I think top-50 wins are exponentially more significant than top-100 wins. With InSU losing, they dropped out of the top-50. Another poorly timed loss (especially at home) could drop CU out of the top-50, as well. I'm also not expecting UNI to maintain their lofty RPI very long. It's entirely possible that by the time we get to BracketBusters weekend WSU could be the only top-50 RPI team in the Valley.

A conclusion you could draw, if that becomes the case, is that InSU, UNI and, though less likely CU, will have played their way out of at-large consideration. Terrible for the Valley and only marginally good for WSU.

I agree re: top 50 wins vs top 100. However, I still think that CU will remain top 50. I don't think Ind State was going to remain top 50 anyway. In fact there were right at #50 in Realtime RPI before last night's game is taken into account.
