Creighton's Grant Gibbs got a 1 year clock extension from 5 to 6 years to use up his eligibility under similar circumstances. I think Alterique would have good shot at the clock extension to 6 years. He only played 6 games I think in his first two seasons at UConn. Season ending injuries to his should early in both his 1st two years. Got a medical redshirt for his first year.

I’d be kind of shocked if Gilbert elected to apply for a waiver for an extra year... Given his injury history, and assuming he has a good season for us and remains healthy, I would think he’d want to ride that wave and take advantage of his health and make money playing professionally. Because he’s definitely talented enough to have a good career as a high level player overseas without question.

That being said, I’m not in his head obviously and who knows how the season will go. I wouldn’t be disappointed if he does stay for an additional season, cause I think he’s a tremendous player and have a lot of respect for him off the court.

Trey has been a joy since the minute he stepped on campus. Keeps his head down, works his tail off, does everything asked of him without a hint of being negative, consummate team player. I don't even care if this is just for him. He deserves it, especially dealing with the drama crap he had to all year. I hope they both enjoy and relish the time together and have tremendous success at the same time.

Agree with this. 6th year guys are generally guys that may need another year to improve their game and try to get a shot playing pro ball.

So happy to see him join! A defense first guard who is a team player.

Might want to try out for the track team as a long jumper.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                            This isn't UNI.

Dammit, I should have read the rest of your post.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

Worked out for former Shocker guard Preston Carrington. Preston was a two-year starter for the Shocker Men's basketball team and then went on to qualify for and finish 5th in the long jump at the 1972 Olympics. He finished 2nd in the qualifying rounds with a jump that would have won him a Silver Medal in the finals if he had been able to duplicate it.
