Lacrosse isn't a sport that really matches up or resonates with our student body demographic. No one plays it around here, do they? Maybe some club stuff like hockey, or rugby, but nothing of any scale. Seems like a dumb idea. Nothing against the sport personally.

If Creighton were located in New England, and wanted to add a D1 sport, then that is a more of a cultural analogy/fit.

Adding additional cost (women sports don’t pay for themselves, doubt most men’s sports do either) to WSU athletics makes no sense to me. Is lacrosse a pet project of the new president?

Yes, in an interview with Darren Boatright, on the Drive, he mentioned that the new president would like to add women's soccer, and at least get lacrosse going at the club level. Looking to add it as a varsity sport later. Both would go in the new multipurpose arena/stadium

about 4,000 athletes and their families and coaches and support. 12,000 should be fine, although the fans are used to spreading out quite a bit and setting up camp in the upper reaches of the stands.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

This is a good pic to pitch my idea of pavilions and terraces around the turns, especially in the north end. I'm sure something could be designed to help accommodate a canopy city in some fashion and be useful for other events as well.

Every school in the AAC except WSU and Tulane has woman's soccer. That seems like an easy addition. Soccer is popular in the Wichita and KC areas

Lacrosse, on the other hand, I know nothing about. I know it's a fast growing sport, so maybe they are getting a jump on the trend.

I could see having a pavilion right by the new Student Athlete Success building, in front of the dorms. Students could walk right over into the student section.

I still hope for a smaller, 2500-5000, person facility for volleyball (and women's basketball). More intimate atmosphere.

If they need more seats for big games, play in CKA.

This makes no sense. Football is a no go (which I understand) but adding women’s sports that will be a cost is a priority? WSU was fine in the valley but looking around the AAC they have their hands full to maintain competitive facilities/coaches without adding demands on resources.

If WSU was looking into going the BE, Lacrosse would make more sense. Several schools play lacrosse in that league (men's and women's) and all players men's and woman's soccer.

I know we briefly talked about AAC vs BE, but with adding those sports a move to the BE makes sense. I still believe going to a league free of P5-purging football-schools could be a smart and safe move.

Women's soccer is a no brainer for us to add at some point as is Women's Lacrosse. Both could use the new facility and helps entrench us in the AAC while still leaving the door open to Football

If the new President likes Lacrosse, a club program would be a minimal expense. Maybe it catches on at WSU some day and maybe not.
