Glad it’s coming down. It will open sight lines from 21st street. Not surprising that soccer and lacrosse were mentioned in that it’s no secret women’s soccer and men’s lacrosse were sports that Dr Golden would like to add.

WSU to Raze Cessna Stadium?

Actually, this is the best situation you could hope for if you really wanted to raze Cessna all along. Demolition can begin and it provides a longer window for demolition and construction of a new facility before state track in 2021.
Plus, it would have been tough to put athletic facilities at such different places on campus, like if you wanted to put a stadium on the Innovation Campus area."In God we trust, all others must bring data." - W. Edwards Deming

The article mentions tearing down the East stands first followed by the West stands and press box next, and rebuild a stadium in the same campus footprint that will accommodate the HS Track championships for all classes.

Has there ever been any studies on building an indoor facility, similar to these type of stadiums?
Fargodome – North Dakota State University, Seating = 18,700
UNI-Dome – University of Northern Iowa, Seating = 16,300
Walkup Skydome - Northern Arizona University, Seating = 16,200
Kibbie Dome - University of Idaho, Seating = 16,000
Alerus Center - University of North Dakota, Seating = 12,283
Holt Arena - Idaho State University, Seating = 12,000
Dakota Dome – University of South Dakota, Seating = 10,000
Also, why couldn’t WSU, go into partnership with the City of Wichita, Sedgwick County, and the Wichita School District to do a collaboration project of building an indoor arena.
