Glad it’s coming down. It will open sight lines from 21st street. Not surprising that soccer and lacrosse were mentioned in that it’s no secret women’s soccer and men’s lacrosse were sports that Dr Golden would like to add.

Actually, this is the best situation you could hope for if you really wanted to raze Cessna all along. Demolition can begin and it provides a longer window for demolition and construction of a new facility before state track in 2021.

Plus, it would have been tough to put athletic facilities at such different places on campus, like if you wanted to put a stadium on the Innovation Campus area.

Agree if they’re going to do it, the timing is perfect to tear it down, but it looks like they’re rebuilding.

The article mentions tearing down the East stands first followed by the West stands and press box next, and rebuild a stadium in the same campus footprint that will accommodate the HS Track championships for all classes.
