To get back on topic (sort of). Anyone remember Legends Night? I designed a special poster (for myself of course, not for resale) and took it to Legends Night. We waited and waited in the huge lines to get autographs and just say hi to Antoine, X, Dave and some of the others. The whole time, I'm half freaking out someone at the University is going to confiscate my poster because it wasn't licensed and I had logos on there and player images. So I finally get up to the guys signing and they all just stopped and were huddled together talking about it. And they wanted copies of the poster, and of course they all signed it. But here's the best part. I was talking with AC and at the time I had a "Legends" ball signed by former Shocker players that I really enjoyed watching. I mentioned to him that I had this ball and I just always wished I could have gotten James Gibbs and Aubrey SHerrod's signatures on it. And AC said "no problem." They'll be at the next game and they're sitting with me. You bring the ball and they'll sign it. So I took the Legend ball to the game and went and found AC, family and his friends and they were super nice and making introductions, and it was just super cool. So I got the two signatures (Sherrod and "Bug Eyes" Gibbs) on the ball and Antoine brought the ball back to me where we were sitting and saying hello to my family. Super sincere at the time and he didn't have to do it, but was a moment I'll have trouble forgetting. AC was a true Legend.

Who remembers when and how long this took to complete?

'The Canal Route on I-135 in Wichita has been touted as one of the most significant Kansas Interstate projects of the 20th century. When it was constructed, a 2.2-mile portion of the I-135 project was the most costly and technically challenging part on the Kansas Interstate system. Named for the drainage canal it straddles (the Chisholm Creek Canal runs through the median of the highway, the Canal Route construction began in 1971 and opened in 1979.'

That road should have been named the "Wichita Speedway", Vroom Vroom!

I remember becoming a distant friend of Paul White. They called him "hot dawg fingers" Here is what FSF highly recommended to him to do when he finished College. "Get into Professional wrestling." It was a "no brainer and other people told him the same thing." True story! Years later he did. I'm thinking a commish check is in order, but I hold Not my breath. He made it to the top of the heap and I'm happy for Paul. Is he still wrestling or did he retire?

Guessing he’s retired. He has a new show on Netflix... The Big Show. The Mrs. and I are enjoying watching it.

                        • Once saw Big Show at a WalMart in Wichita, KS (west side, near Sams) looking through the wrestling action figures. Scared the crap out of me to see someone so big. I remember writing about it at the time saying something like "he looked like a small car or a big horse". He was over 7 feet tall and easily weighed over 400 pounds it seemed. At work I ran into someone who works as private security. And he was a big person. Easily 7 feet and probably 350 pounds and I remarked to him that he reminded me of the pro wrestler Big Show. And this hulk of a man who I barely measured up to his armpits says "yeah. I know him. Paul's a big guy".

Don't have a clue when it began, but sometime after, the end of WWII would be my guess. I had my first car in 1964 and I am pretty sure my friends and I were dragging Douglas by then.
