During his career, Shasha did it a second time. The crowd once again erupted with laughter and Folger couple pull him out fast enough. :)

Sasha did it a few times under Smithson and Gene was fine with it. Frankly, I saw no problem with it. No different than faking pass on a drive, a head fake, or any other kind. Fogler had a strange sense of right and wrong.

Remember when the Shocks rumbled at Indiana State and finish the game 5 on 2. Sasha R. did not remind us of Rocky but we snuck out of there with a win.

After investigating a brawl that broke out during a basketball game last week between Indiana State and Wichita State, the Missouri Valley Conference decided...
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Remember when mental toughness was a lauded part of the program, not just extra effort?

Remember the home game against Bradley with the Shocks up huge and the crowd began chanting "No More Whistles" and that was on calls that were in the Shockers' favor.

Remember when Bradley coach Dick Versace accused Wichita State of padding Xavier McDaniel’s rebounding stats during the 1984-85 season.

That shade did not work out well for Versace. McDaniel relished his two games against Bradley, scoring 43 and 33 points and grabbing 20 and 22 rebounds that season.

I am sure most everyone remembers the home game where Dave the Rave recorded his career high and then school record 46 points in a 65-64 win over two-time defending National Champion and No. 1 ranked Cincinnati in the Roundhouse on Feb. 16, 1963. Stallworth scored the team’s final seven points as the Shockers rallied from a six-point deficit in the final 3:10.

The win snapped Cincinnati’s 37-game win streak.

After the game Dave the Rave credited the play of point guard Ernie Moore as the key to the win.

As an aide Cincinnati lost in the NCAA Championship that game 58-60 to the Loyola Ramblers. Bot those teams finished the season with two losses. The only team that beat both of them that season was Wichita State.

I think there is a song named after this thread. "Remember When". I think there is even some basketball probably wrapped up in this melancholy song. It's all how you interpret it.

I never have been able to find it. Did one of the local stations broadcast the game? Maybe they have a copy somewhere.

Edit: I think it was on the Shocker Channel. Was channel 10 doing those games?

Here is former Shocker Sasha Radunovich playing in the European League and his patented "now you see---now you don"t" LEGAL basketball move. Head Coach Fogler was an idiot for ever taking him out because of it. It starts at the 2:05 minute mark...

Fogler demonstrated a lack of appreciation for the players he inherited from Gene Smithson.

And then gave WSU Cohen as a parting gift, right after all of G. Smithson's players graduated and his remained...

Sasha will always be one of my favorite Shockers. He had an "interesting" career at WSU.

He played 31 mpg, starting 26 of 28 games in his first year under Gene while only shooting .392 from the field, 11.6 ppg, but 7.3 rebounds per game.

In his 3 years under Fast Eddie, he averaged only 23.4 mpg, starting only 60 of 92 games (28 of those starts in his junior year) averaging 12.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg (both of these affected by his 25% reduction in minutes).

Yet, in his only 2 first round NCAA appearances he lead the Shocks with 18 points in both games (there was only 1 other Shocker to score double digits at all). He was 10-19 from the field and 16-17 from the line.

Over his career, Sasha ranks 15th in total points at 1,463, shooting .468 FG, .417 from 3 (43-103), and .753 FT.

Remember when Mike Cohen was coaching and we defeated Oklahoma State and Alabama at home? The Alabama coach called the after game show. Robert George really played well against some very talented foes as I remember it in both games. Later John Cooper got undercut by a Tennessee player and the collision broke his leg.

Remember when Larry Brown had the nerve to come to Wichita with Danny and his miracles? He sure complained a lot. This was back in the Eddie F. days. We won and Danny Manning scored 12 measly points.

Remember when Gary Cundiff stirred up a crowd of opposing surrounding foes and X-Man came and separated them away from Gary? It looked for a split moment in time like the parting of the Red Sea. Then remember when X-man was playing against the Atlanta Hawks and both Tree Rollins and another 7 ft. foe (Kevin Willis?) were coming after X with vengeance flaming eyes and he took off the other way. In the paper the words used by X were something like this as he described the event: "X-Man, it's time to bail out."

I remember when I had a full head of hair and wasn't losing it like I am now. Should I just buzz it (not shaved), but 1/2 guard it?
