    That is total bull schmidt.

    We need more traditions.

One of the greatest is traditions is Dudley Do - Right. We should celebrate it more.

I am old enough to remember when the band simply kept playin after the opening tip; before the NCAA Stalinist stepped in.

That song needs to be part all of us and the pep band leader needs a big kick in the arst.

And I volunteer for that activity.

Dudley Do - Right is the song played right before tip off and the beginning of the second half. If you want to be more specific the theme song to the old Dudley Do - Right cartoon show from back in the day. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...vtGguduMtknCHA

It gets the crowd up and clapping to fire up the team. Sometimes late in games if we need to get the crowd revved up in close games. It's better than low brass cheer because it doesn't piss off the other team. You have to have a lead and win if you are going to play Low Brass Cheer.

            How old are you?

I am sure that would explain your confusion.

As I said, it wasn't the pep band leader's decision. He was given a script before the game by someone higher up, and the script didn't call for Dudley. That decision was made by someone else (probably someone in the athletic department, but no way of knowing for sure). So don't go throwing around blame against someone who wasn't at fault, please.

Maybe you should reserve that big kick for Sexton.

I was saying that the band should be the only music, they are not going to do away with the video's so that is the only time they should use the canned music ****!!

Im fine with music besides the band especially when the other team calls a timeout. It makes the place louder and more hectic for the other team. One of the loudest times i remember in Koch was the bradley game a few years ago when we werent very good and made a comeback. bradley called a timeout and they cranked music and the band was playing at the same time. You couldnt hear yourself think. So at times I think other music is good.

The reason you have heard it with Michigan State is because back in the 70s and 80s there was quite a pipeline between MSU and WSU. Even the WSU Marching Band's WSU block just inverted the M from the MSU one. Big reason for the pipeline was the fact that Dave Catron, an MSU guy, was Director of Bands here for quite some time, and then after he returned to MSU, we had a few GTAs that were MSU undergrads.

As for the script issue, I know I will be emailing Mr. Sexton regarding it. I encourage all who agree Dudley should be a FIXTURE at the start of each half to do the same.

It's all about money, but yeah. It was weird to not hear Dudley at the beginning of the second half.

I did not know that. Thanks for the information.

The music and all the script is about the money but without all the sponsers we wouldnt be as successful of a program. I gurantee that. The community has bought into the shockers. Now the fans need to start showing back up.

And dont mess with tradition. I hope lots of people have emailed Sexton about this.

Don't ask me why, but I suspect PC is the root of the problem.
