  • I'm firmly in the camp that this is a massive, big deal. Almost all parties have a vested interest to downplay. Take it seriously.

    • At 11:00 am today Jay Monahan, Commissioner of the PGA TOUR, is expected to announce that beginning tomorrow at The Players Championship golf will be played without galleries. This move is expected to continue for the next few weeks. I get it, but I am still disappointed because SHOXAAC has tickets to the Masters in one month. Safety first however.

But to answer your question, 4,751 so far, And for those the problem is not a 3-6% mortality rate it is 100%. It sucks, but when you can prevent you do what you can.
The global population is roughly 7.8B people. The average global lifespan is roughly 73 years. The math on that breaks down to almost 300,000 deaths globally from all causes on a daily basis, 365 days a year. I mean that is rough math, as more people are born than die annually, but its not an unrealistic statistic.

I'm just saying Corona is going to have to hit high gear on boost, with a meth craving added like a cherry on top, before it is even remotely statistically relevant.

        • According to NHTSA, 30 people die every day due to drunk driving-related causes - about 11,000 people per year.

          • Not that anyone asked, but a nationwide self-quarantine sounds kinda awesome to me. I've been slammed with work for several months - working 55-60 hours a week - then the fed went full ruhtard on the lending rate, so things have gone thermonuclear for me. A month of sitting on my rear, on my recliner, in my lounge pants, catching up with the DVR or Netflix or whatever sounds like an oasis-like dream. Bring it!

You sound like a perfect candidate for Tele-work.

That sounds real nice until you pull up Netflix and can only get a spinning circle because their servers are overloaded. I hope you have a nice collection of DVDs!

Sounds good, until you go to the store before the shutdown and find that people are acting like fools on black friday. Buying up any and all supplies they can, and more than they need, so they can "survive" the quarantine. Inevitably resulting to violence in the isles because this kind of thing just brings out the best in humanity.

No thanks. They want to shut down stuff that is a minor inconvenience...fine. But a nationwide mandatory one would not be pleasant.

Nope. About 20% of my work is in the field. Can't do the other 80% in my office without the 20% done outside as well.

And 100% of those are preventable. Don’t be a jackass and drink and drive.
