Some thought Evansville would be as high as 4th, even with UNI and MSU. A mid-pack Valley team should not lose by 40 to anyone.

What makes me sad is how we are nervous about playing the lower half of the Valley. And we have the right to be. We have lost games that we absolutely should not have lost. SIU last year and Evansville 2 years ago. I hope we fix that this year and take care of the teams we need to. We will be fine as long as we do that. Also to finish out the rest of this non-con with only wins. I hope our Shox stay consistent.

And well ,, lets just say a 49 point beat down embarrassment makes me think there better not be any way we let Eville take a game from us. On a side note. I thought it was kinda low class of UNC to not go deeper into the bench way before the 3 1/2 min. mark left in the game. Since they had doubled up the score long before the start of the 2nd 1/2.
Eh, the ESPN dudes all said that coaches feel more respected if you don't do that to them. Give them your best for most of the game and whatever happens, happens. Only football coaches from Arkansas get bent out of shape by it.

Exactly. Sure, if they know they can walk all over you and persuade you to their line of thinking they'll like you for that game, but there is zero respect. If you're an honest, hard working official, you're going to get a lot of respect for that.

I'd rather be respected than liked.

Remember during the WSU vs WSU game in the NIT semi-finals? It was 60-30 with ten minutes left. I am sure neither coach really knew what to do.

I dunno - 10 minutes is just way too much time for wholesale substitutions. I think you sub one guy in for your least healthy or MVP if all healthy and see how it goes for a couple minutes, then sneak another one in for a couple more minutes. Only until the 5 and under mark would you even think about a full squad change up in a serious post season game IMO.

Agreed. So much damage can be done in 10 minutes.

However, the way Evansville was playing, it probably woudn't have hurt too much. Maybe the 7-8 minute mark or so would have been appropriate.

Ja. But ... There is a big difference being ranked top 5 playing Evansroadkille and being in an NIT matchup against a team that CAN go off with so much time left. :)
