Not even a mention on the Tulsa board about the game tonight. They are far too consumed with getting rid of Wojcik. Sad.

This game will be tough. Tulsa always gets up for WSU and after WSU upset UNLV they are an even bigger game.
The fans should be ready as well.
WSU is still trying to put together a great road game.
As others have said, If you want to be in the dance this is a game they must win.
WSU-76
Tulsa-70

These kids do not know the past history and rivalry between our two programs, so I doubt they'll 'get up' solely based on the match-up. However, I think Tulsa will 'get-up' because we just came off a big emotional win over a ranked team and want their shot at us at home. I doubt very seriously Ragland will score half of what he did against UNLV. This could be a dicey game for us.

Seems pretty straight forward and true to our heritage.
OTOH, the history of how Tulsa became the Golden Hurricane is a little more convoluted.
I still think how Manhattan became the Jaspers (who the Shocks played a few years ago) is one of the more interesting stories.
Regarding the game. I am quite concerned about this game. I have to believe it will be a close, hard fought contest. Tulsa's five losses are by a combined 19 points. No one has really put them away without a fight. 3 of those losses were to teams currently in the Top 50 RPI. Let's hope this is not the game Tulsa decides to win a close one. Lest we not forget this is our 1st true road game of the season. We saw how UNLV fared when they hit the road for the 1st time last week(Double OT win at UCSB and the blow-out loss to the Shocks). The Shocks really did not play great in their neutral site trip to Puerto Rico so I see this as another big test for this year's Shocks. It certainly is another significant game and one where we simply can not afford a let down.
I'd like to see about 5 double digit scorers in this game with a good balance of team oriented inside-out basketball, keep turnovers reasonable, play our normally good solid defense and rebound the ball up to our norms.
I think if the Shocks can score in the 70's they will win this game. If Tulsa can keep the game in the mid-to-low 60's things could get a little nerve-wracking.

I think last years game will keep our guys focused. They don't know about the rivalry and probably could care less but the Shox will go out and prove to be the road warriors they were last year. Shox by 15 Also I don't think Tulsa fans will show up and it will be verrrrry quiet from 10 mins on. Just a little sunshine for all you that can use it or can't stand it.

I'm taking Shox by 8. I say 8 because of the ever present "make them shoot free throws" at the end of a close game. Hoping to see some low post dominance.
Shox 78

First few minutes will tell a lot. We're feeling good after Sunday, Tulsa's got to be questioning themselves. Close losses take a toll. We give them a punch in the jaw ala Ben Smith and win by double figures going away.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

We should start handing out prizes for correct predictions
Gift Cards to BWW if you get the point spread exactly right
Gift Cards to Fox and Hound if you get one of the scores right
A new, custom Shocker Ford Truck if you predict the EXACT outcome of the game
Now do we have any donators? (Lol)
