I will wait and see how much improvement the Shox have made, if any, before I address UNLV. Unlike some of their fans, I won't look ahead until they are the next team we face.

Shocks win by 20 with the following highlights:

        - Demetric finally puts some points on the board.
        - EO goes for 6 pts, 6 boards, 4 blocks.
        - Kyles strings together some 3FGs.
        - Cotton continues to contribute - 8-10 points, 3 assists, 3 steals.

I agree. 3G will generally use a game like this to give his irregulars a chance to develop in game situations. Hopefully, the 9-man regular rotation plays well enough that 3G will have the opportunity to give Jake, Evan and James some decent minutes and also let Dandy Randy get some PT. Obviously, if you are going to use up a year of eligibility for Jake and Evan you want them to get as much experience as possible.

But if we build a 30-40 point lead early, which we very well could, the end of the bench can still keep it in the 20-30 range. He's not going to run up the score late by keeping his main guys in, but if the score gets out of control early, there's not much you can do. He's not going to tell his kids to stop playing hard, especially if it's the FR and others who see limited playing time. If we only win by 15, I'd be shocked and probably disappointed with the play of either the regulars or the bench or both.

I hope our 1st 9-10 can build a solid lead early. However, unlike throwing the bottom of the roster all in at the same time, I'd like to see no more than 2 of the #10-13 players in with at least 2 of the top 6 and 1 from the #7-10. Give those players a chance to develop good habits with other experienced players around them.

I like that idea. I've said in the past that I wish Ehimen was used like that a little more last year instead of being put in with the walk-ons.

Let Wessel play with a couple of staters in. At least one post and one guard.

Let White get some PT next to Stutz and/or Hall. Same with Anacreon.

Really don't need to see a lineup of Cotton, Wessel, Vautravers(sp), White, Anacreon until the last few minutes.

I do believe that these bench players will get more out of it if they're working with those who do and have played more.

Cotton needs plenty of time for this game so that we can get him ready for UNLV.

I have no doubts that Cotton will see about 20 minutes or so in this game. First, he's earned playing time. Second, this is a good game to get him some extended minutes and see how he does over that time. Third, he's just too fun to watch to keep him on the bench.

Seems weird to be discussing CSF in anything other than the baseball forum.

If we feed the ball to Stutz, are unselfish, and play to our ability:
                      Shox - 452
                      Titans - 10

If we shoot a lot of threes and put the game on the shoulders of our guards:
                      Shox - 65
                      Titans - 61
"It's amazing to watch Ron slide into that open area, Fred will find him and it's straight cash homie."--HCGM

I like that approach also. Hopefully, 3G gets the opportunity to do some of that.

I like that approach as well, but you rarely see it done.

I fully believe that the shockers will win this game. I would like to see them improve on how they played against UAB. Dribble drive, get to the line and make your free throws. Feed the big men. And if they want to make 40 percent of their threes, that'd be just gravy. And they can't look past these guys in the shadow of UNLV.

                            Shockers win - 71
                            Titans - 56

I sure hope the game lends to some of the irregulars getting some PT. It's great to see them play and develop. However, call me old school or shallow. Not sure which on this one. I just wish some of the kids would go to the barber for a new hairdo.
