I just knew one of these would pop up and lo and behold, Speed delivered.

Small, easy-to-close umbrellas, from what I have been told, are likely to clear the security screens. Big, gigantic, golfing-type umbrellas will get denied for obvious reasons. People just can't expect to carry whatever the hell they want in and expect to get away with it. Clearly, Speed believes he is above the rules and is blaming his grumpiness and foul attitude on life on IBA.

Try getting in to ANY professional venue and see how many times you get away with bringing in large objects that could be a security or safety risk. It's not gonna happen so don't act like this is JUST AN IBA ISSUE, because it's not. If you have items that don't meet the guidelines, you can normally check them at Guest Services and pick them up after the game. You probably flipped a ***** too quick to even get to this option.

I encourage you to stay home to your confines from now on Speed. It's admirable that your grandfather at 96 years of age has been a season ticket holder for so long and that he can still attend basketball games, but don't expect events like these to be walks in the park for his age group. IBA is not a nursing home facility. It sounds like to me if you were complaining about seating locations, you either waited too long to get your seats or paid for the cheapest ones. Sorry.

99% of those who attended I'm sure had a great time and enjoyed the change for one game. If this game is really crimping your style and you weren't able to be above everybody else in your mind, then it's time to just stay at home and rule the one domain you actually can control, your home.
And just who in the hell are you? How come I can take him anywhere but IBA? If the thread is such a waste why did you respond? Is your life such a waste that you have nothing better to do? And if I had an attitude that I could "bring whatever the hell I want" did you attend alone? Or what was your companion's excuse? I brought a living thriving human being. I suspect that he's earning more than you. He's supported the program for a long time & deserves to attend any game possible. If you don't agree I will gladly provide you with our Koch seats & you can come express your opinion.
As for 99% o the fans enjoying the experience, why was I the only person in section 105 or 106 standing for D? Probably because they were bored with the view of an empty floor.
And why did you suspect such a post. Its because IBA has problems. I'm a fan of WSU basketball. I declined the experience in the Cohen era. I'll decline it now if I must associate with your post as you seem like a waste of oxygen. But my grandfathers support has not wavered.
Obviously we could give a **** less for each other's opinion. But if you don't care about someone who has supported the program for such a long time, then you're numerous posts mean nothing but wasted web space.

Speed, don't be the kind of fragile little flower who posts their opinions online and cannot tolerate someone not agreeing with them 100%. You had to know you would catch flack, you're catching flack, don't be a *****.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Do you really not know? It's ShockerFever, and he likes to say things that create responses. You took the bait.

I just hope I'm prepared so that I can take an umbrella to a d-bag fight.

My bus idea hasn't been addressed. I hope my ideas are implemented so that an assembled line will enable me to drive by and assault an organized group with an umbrella. That would be great fun! ( Please note sarcasm for IBA staff, those who curtail to domestic threats, idiots, & shockerfever)

This thread topic is sad and pathetic in so many ways. People will never be content no matter what they will always find a way to complain. Unbelievable...but yet not surprising.

Ignoring problems, rather than addressing them, seems to be a popular response.

I think the Ksu people were smart enough to offer a lot of more reasonably priced seats (and not to schedule the game the day after Thanksgiving AND not to schedule it against a team that is picked in to finish in the middle of the pack in a NON-BcS conference).

But that is no excuse. We need to sell out the arena regardless.
If the arena ends up being just half full then I don't ever want to hear again what great basketball fans we are.

UNLV just beat #1 North Carolina at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas (about 5 miles from campus). Coming into the game UNLV was undefeated and on the verge of breaking into the top 25. The box score lists the attendance at 7523.

The AP story after the game says "...Even though the game was played at the Orleans Arena, five miles from the UNLV campus, there seemed to be just slightly more UNLV fans as Tar Heels supporters in the 8,000-seat arena."

I would think that IBA would have been sold out in just a few hours if WSU had been playing the number 1 team in the country.

Maybe now you'll understand better why I didn't like the call out made about WSU fandom and the need to sell out regardless. And all the other bad mouthing going on by others about certain WSU fans. Perhaps we should consider ourselves lucky to be a part of this fandom and just admit that not everyone is going to think and do the same as you, me, or SF. After the UAB game, HCGM was complimenting the fans for their turnout.

Your first 3 sentences demonstrate to me your sourpuss attitude on life. What does your grandpa's net worth have to do with anything? Why was that brought up? I commended the guy and you're flipping a ***** again. Why?

Why were you the only one standing for defense in your section? Well, it's probably because the IBA experience is more like an NBA one. This isn't a game at Koch full of season ticket holders. A lot of fans are casual ones that are getting a chance to see a product they normally don't get to see at a new, different venue. Is that a problem? Why do you and pinstriper not understand that IBA is not Koch? It seems like you two have trouble comprehending this. Is it really that hard to figure out? Probably so as your skull seems to be thicker than most.

You kinda told me you are a bandwagoner fan yourself. You "declined the Cohen era?" What does that mean? You didn't support the program in its darkest times? That's an awesome fan right there. Support them in the good times and abandon them in the bad. Now I see why you complain about everything and anything that is not perfect in your little world.

Your entire experience seems dampered by an umbrella issue. Did you read my response or just ignore it? Any response to it? You can't rise above the rules just because of your "stature" or your grandfather's. Koch Arena may have different security measures than IBA. I dunno. But I do know that IBA is not Koch Arena so there are some things you won't be able to do there that you would at Koch. Does that resemble any sort of sense or is that still not good enough for holier than thou you?

As much as I think that many on Shockernet don't get out nearly enough, I think I'll have to reverse that logic and recommend some people just stay home. I mean it. The world is just too complicated and exciting for you.
Agreed. There's ALWAYS gonna be a few out there that just aren't gonna be satisfied with anything. The WSU fanbase has more of these than we'd like know unfortunately. Thankfully, only a couple posters here are in that crowd.

                        It really is sad.

I believe I ADDRESSED the issues Speed whined about in his opening post. Again, reading comprehension doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

I'm glad you were out of town for the game.

I don't know. That's why I asked. You didn't address Speed's issues. You attempted to belittle him. That's not the same thing. In addition, I am not your babysitter. Perhaps you need one (seems obvious), but it is not me. Sorry.
