Do we have a game scheduled at IBA next year? If we play Tulsa at IBA again then we have a 10,000 ticket head start as far as paid admission goes as I assume that would be part of the season ticket package. What I don't know is what are the economics of playing a true home game at IBA vs Koch Arena. How much does it cost the University to rent IBA (which BTW is losing money this year)? Is it worth it? Or do we just bide our time until KU, KSU or a big name opponent agrees to play us at IBA (which may never happen)?

A)The arena isn't losing money. There is a contract, and the management company is responsible for eating the any losses. Maybe this is an issue in several years when the management contract runs out.
B)Many people, including me, bought early to get the best seats. I don't mind doing that. Some do, and I understand that. Future promoters will decide what the best way to turn a profit is, and I suspect WSU will have almost as good a shot as anyone at landing a good IBA gig.
C)If you don't go because of a money crunch, I totally get that. No problem. You have to take care of more important things, always. No grief from me. We've all been there. I've been there. Also, if you have travel or family plans around the holiday, again, totally get that. Completely understandable.
D)If you don't go out of spite because you think they should be in the season ticket package, you don't think UAB is "worth it", you want a "bigger name" to justify or you don't like where you might have to sit, then you suck as a fan, period.
Get out of the cave and enjoy the 21st century.
E) Just get your butt to the game.

Nevertheless, this transition to IBA has not been a smooth one. Had the years been reversed, UAB last year as part of the ticket package and a more reasonable initial priced Tulsa not in the season ticket package this year, things would have worked much better. I know you can't always have it the way you want, but Tulsa would have been the type of fan interest draw to get all the fans out, even the ones that didn't care for their "arena experience" the previous year.

"Are you sure it's on Cox 22? When I look at the guide, the only thing it shows on channel 22 for Friday at 7pm is High School Football, Salina South at Salina Central."
I was going off what I read on this thread , but just saw in another thread where someone said it is not. I really didn't see how that made much sense to have this game on tv. Sorry for the confusion #newbie lolI smell Bluejay puntang and the only good Bluejay puntang is dead Bluejay puntang

All I have to say on this subject is this...boo frickin hoo fellow shocker fans! Come on! I live 1,400 miles away and I don't get to see ANY games in either Koch or IBA! I would kill to just see one game every year. The only time I get back during the season is around Christmas and the team is usually on break, so I don't get to games. Swallow your pride, if that's what it is and get your butts to the arena and support this team and be a real fan. Man, have we become spoiled or what?"I discovered surfing, which I absolutely fell in love with. That feels good and kind of keeps your body aligned, so does the salt water." - Anthony Kiedis
