The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles men's basketball was tabbed to finish third in The Summit League Preseason Poll for 2019-20 and received three first-place votes, while Emmanuel Nzekwesi and Kevin Obanor were picked for the All-Summit League First Team. ORU has a record of 1–3, with a win against Houston Baptist (0-3) and with losses to @ Oklahoma State (4-0), @ Tulsa (3-1), and @ Iowa (2-1).

Looking at ORU: No traditional center/post play. They play Guard/forward rotations. They play 5 guys with 2.5 guys coming off the bench. I don't know what 2.5 is, but they for sure aren't 10 or 11 quality deep. Looking at other stats, they may not present the shot blocking abilities of many of the teams we have faced (or will face). The games they have lost were all on the road and they were all fairly close (less than 10 points difference), with the exception of the Iowa game. Interesting thing about the Iowa game. both teams went scoreless near the end of the game for a period of almost 4 minutes with Iowa up 10 during that stretch. So ORU played it fairly close in all of their losses (OSU, Tulsa, Iowa - maybe an exception?). They are giving up an avg 77 points per game.

Also of note, TU and OU seemed to turn the ball over quite a bit in their games, which
1. may have kept the score close
2. is only an indicator that it was early in the season and all teams struggle with TOs early
3. they are a little better than most at causing TOs, though that was not the case with Iowa

Just some things to keep an eye on.

All that being said....I hope the Shox aren't looking too much forward to their little Mexican holiday with beautiful white sand beaches and heizenberg colored waters Temps in the 80s this week. Not like our 40s. Ugh. Maybe they need a chaperone? I would be happy to volunteer my services.

Hope this is not a trap game...they have played a decent schedule close...
