Yes, Bama and Memphis have it down pat.

Unless UA received a signed LOI (which would have been big news on the 'net after he committed to WSU), then it would be a recruiting violation to mention him by name. I find that to be highly unlikely. Furthermore, our coaches have mentioned him by name, meaning WSU has received a signed LOI.

      • Looks like a pretty old Bama video to me, I'd think you'd want the current coach in the current video.

The Batwu / Iron Wu / Fighter Jet Wu were / are all neat to me. I can understand the complaints, but to me they're fun videos to show for the time before the team takes the floor. Our crowd should be able to get worked up with or without them. As far as our true introduction video, the one played before starting lineups, I've thought the last few were very well done. I liked the historical one showing all the old players and playing off the MTXE motto. The new one with Marshall talking about the fans gives me goosebumps. I think they've been very well done.

        • I go to the game for one reason, and one reason only. The intro videos. I used to show up hours before the game to snag a good seat for the IronWU video. BatWU is a visually pleasing intro but falls short with character development. I mean, who is BatWU and why did he decide to start fighting opposing basketball teams anyways? I would prefer they extend the video to 30 minutes and give us a true picture of the character, his love interests, family, etc..

I used to do some editing in high school and believe me its not hard. If they had followed the plot line from Batman Begins instead of the Dark Knight it would get the crowd into it more.

              • In regard to the bands sound - I thought they sounded great at Charleston Southern. Good volume, although it's probably tough to sound bad with concrete and steel all around you.

I'll leave the timing issues to the experts, only saying that it makes sense that a top 50 program probably deserves someone with game management skills leading the band.

As far as specifics, I think the VCU band is somebody to emulate. To my untrained eye, we have the raw materials to do it - we just need to find the content that really pulls the crowd in. For VCU, it's their "We Don't Have to Go To War" song that absolutely dominated the Alamodome during the Sweet 16 last year. The entire fan base was blowing up, singing it every time they played it... and that was only a few hundred to couple thousand people in a cavernous football stadium. I get chill bumps thinking about what this would sound like with 10,000+ in the Roundhouse. I couldn't find a great example on youtube, but you can extrapolate:

Here's the You don't want to go to war with the Ram's song. I just love these guys!!!! Go Rams. Just back from the United Center where VCE demolished Pur...

Must be an old tweet. However, what is undetermined with Teddy is whether or not he will be able to qualify academically. His coach said he was close. Not sure if this has to do with grades or test scores.

Here is Teddy's thread on the recruiting forum:

That's funny, coming from a guy with 20,000+ posts, 50% of which consist of talking to yourself in the Gregalogue thread or rambling along about the Royals and their "potential".

What exactly have you done to contribute to this thread? That's right. Zero. I'm sorry that I have more cares and concerns than you do regarding basic operations of the displaying of the university and it's products to a paying audience. I'm sorry that my expectations are higher than the level yours are at, which are at the same level you referee games at.

I was curious so I went and looked. The most recent post anywhere on TideFans.com that mentions "Hawkins" is from Oct. 21 - and it's about "Dan Hawkins".

                            • K-State plays 2 videos. First this one before the team takes the court (this is last years. Couldn't find this years):

Then this one (this year's) just before player intros:

mbb, k-state, kansas state, basketball, intro, lineup, starting, mens, wildcats

I'm not saying these are better or worse than anyone else's just enjoy seeing how different school's handle their game management and hope some of you all do too. I have not seen the WSU intro and hope someone will post it here. I enjoyed the Memphis and Alabama intros that were posted above. I'm also interested in pep bands having played in the K-State pep band years ago.

The Bama video sounds like the Shocker video from two years ago.
