Just an “emergency” restraining order while they sort things out.

Seems like that would still leave those games open to being vacated if he plays.

                Two things:

Not shocked by this one bit!! You don't have a recruiting haul like that without some shady ish going down. Probably the first of many dominoes to fall. But, I would almost bet the NCAA will let a lot of it slide.

Kid should have been allowed to go to the league immediately. He clearly doesn't want to be a "student" athlete and he has the NBA skills so let them go that route.

Giving Penny some time to raise the cash for the NCAA payment to let it slide.

does that matter if they can stretch it out till April?

Nope. And I assume that's their plan.

While this is not surprising it’s pretty amazing how fast this was reported to the NCAA and went down. Can’t help but think some SEC school was crawling all over this entire recruitment history once he signed with Penny.

Not sure I would have filed the restraining order risking retroactive forfeiture against U of Illinois at Chicago. Pretty sure the Tigers could’ve handled them without James.

Lol - he should've gone to a P-5 league. Wouldn't have been a problem there. Sounds like the Kentucky's of the world had their feelings hurt when he signed with a non blue blood.

And how could Penny be considered a "booster" if he helped the family before he became the coach of Memphis? If indeed that's how it went down.

He’s a booster because he was a Memphis alum.
