"...For Memphis' Tyler Harris it was one of the first times in his college career that he hushed a frenzied crowd. His 3-pointer with 5:14 left extended Memphis’ lead to 73-67.

"“I hit a deep trey and the crowd was just like, ‘Ooohhh,’” the sophomore guard said. “They had a run going and I feel like I kind of silenced the crowd. I kind of like that more than everybody getting excited.”

They’re 13-1 and playing the best basketball in the conference outside of us,” Hardaway said. “It’s a big game for them. They’re wearing black uniforms and they want the crowd to wear all black. They want it to be, I guess, intimidating to come into their building. So, yeah, they’ll be rowdy. I really hope Marshall and the team are reading these jabs Penny et al are throwing at them. They are the national championship favorite, the conference favorite, the higher ranked team, the team that swept us last year, etc.

Since the 2009-10 season they are 2-4. They did go 2-1 in the 08-09 season and of course made the championship game in 2008 vs KU.

Yep. Dumb chant. I was referring the blue bloods and other P5 schools being overrated just due to the name on the jersey. Definitely not Memphis. Lol

I'm looking everywhere for this and I don't see anything about a championship game appearance for Memphis in 08.
