A case for every Top 25 team winning the NCAA tournament - ESPN

"...Who's really the top team? There's a case for just about everyone near the top cutting down the nets in Atlanta in April. Here are some stats and historical factors that speak to each member of the current Top 25's chances:...
21. Houston Cougars
Each of the past five champions has had a top-25 rebound rate or had five-plus players average at least nine points per game. The 2020 Cougars are doing both, including corralling a nation-leading 57.2% of all missed shots.
23. Wichita State Shockers
It's an all-for-one and one-for-all situation in Wichita this season, as the Shockers have seven players averaging at least 7.0 points per night. Of those seven, three average at least 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. That's a similar versatile outline that the 2017 Tar Heels used to win it all, as they had seven players average over 6.0 points, with three of them averaging 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists...."

Now we are stuck with absolute Shocker hater, Mark Wise. Wichita State has never taken a legitimate charge in Wise's opinion. Every blocking foul on our opponent was a "missed call," and every single questionable call that goes against the Shockers was "an easy call....that is a foul"

Biggest Winner and Loser from Each Noteworthy CBB Conference with 1 Month to Go - Bleacher Report

Biggest Winner: Wichita State
Last year was—by Wichita State standards—a disaster for the Shockers. After finishing eight consecutive seasons with at least 25 wins and inside the KenPom top 30, they went 22-15 and ended up at No. 66.
Considering Gregg Marshall had to replace basically the entire roster during the 2017-18 offseason, it's hardly a surprise that it was a down year. But after losing the only two double-digit scorers from that team (Markis McDuffie and Samajae Haynes-Jones), we expected another semi-rebuilding year for the Shockers. Maybe they could sneak into the tournament, but they were supposed to be, at best, a distant fourth-best behind Memphis, Houston and Cincinnati.
The Shockers clearly didn't get that memo, though, starting 15-1 with a neutral-site loss to a very good West Virginia serving as their only misstep in the first half of the season. They're a bit behind Houston and about on par with Cincinnati, but the Shockers are one of the top candidates to secure the AAC's auto bid next month.
Biggest Loser: South Florida
You were likely expecting to see Memphis in this spot, considering the Tigers are nothing close to expectations after debuting at No. 14 in the preseason AP poll. However, at least they're still in the hunt for a trip to the NCAA tournament, and at least we can point to James Wiseman's suspension and subsequent departure from the program as the reason for Memphis' struggles.
But what the heck happened to South Florida?
Losing Alexis Yetna (12.3 PPG, 9.6 RPG last year) to a season-ending knee injury right before the regular season began was a tough pill to swallow, but the Bulls still had four returning starters, plus a major-conference transfer (Zach Dawson from Oklahoma State) more than capable of sliding into a starting gig. USF should've at least been a mid-tier AAC team, considering it won 24 games last season.
It didn't take long to find out that wasn't going to be the case, though. The 17-point home loss to IUPUI barely a week into the season was a clear indication that the Bulls were going nowhere fast. They are 10-12 overall and in the running with East Carolina and Tulane for the ignominious title of worst team in the conference."Comment

A disaster is finding out they have phone records of you talking about how much money is it gonna take to get this kid or that kid. A disaster is losing the respect of your general student body population for the way it handles issues that might otherwise be best taken care of by a call to the police.
I think most were pleasantly surprised by how last season finished. The guys certainly learned a lot and they seemed to enjoy the last part of the season. I'd say its a matter of perspective as to how last season played out.
