  • Can’t imagine the overtime that Bill’s smug, pompous, incredulous smirk was putting in tonight. Probably gonna wake up in the morning with his grill semi-permanently stuck looking like that. Likely won’t be able to snap out of it until he makes some calls to his lackeys to figure out the newest college basketball hustle to run.

That was a beauty of a prognosis.

I could see Bill being the fourth hand in a Steven poker game.

You know that if he lived in Wichita the Steven crew would be a part of his inner circle. Guy lives in the ethical underbelly of wherever he is. He’d make a perfect televangelist or used car sales manager in another life.

  • How does KU not get a #1 seed now. This is the quality of all quality losses.

    • I'm curious to see how high the AP pollsters shoot them up next week. 30 point beatdowns are hard to accomplish.

        It's the NCAA's fault.

    • UConn made a 16-0 run against Cinci to take a 51-50 lead.with 4 and change left. Cinci finally got a basket to break the run, but the game isn't a yawner any more.

Which was after a missed defensive interference call which would have made the game end the same way

So, not only is every single team not named ECU/Tulane rated higher than every MVC team, but so is Louisiana Tech who is our worst loss this year. So we have not lost to a single team that is as bad as the best Valley team. Even in our worst year in a while.
Updated today. Loyola has fallen to 131 and Drake to 138. If Loyola drops 5 more spots, there will be ZERO Q1 OR Q2 games in the MVC. Home or away. All games would be Q3 or Q4..... As of right now, only @Loyola is a Q2 game.

I don't have Kenpom, so I can't verify, but I've seen it reported that the MVC is ranked 17th by Kenpom. This might explain why he puts them that low.

Valley fans were right when they said that losing Creighton and WSU would improve the conference. Those defections made it possible for about any team in the league not named Evansville to win the conference. This year's winner might be Drake. Yeah, it's that bad over there.

Those are not KenPom ranks, those are NCAA NET.

The Valley is 17th though, behind the Sun Belt and CUSA.

I and that's with no truly horrific teams to pull them down like most conferences have

                  • Hate the rug if we want, but KU down 10-3 early, Self calls timeout to regroup. Jayhawks make a bucket out of the timeout. That's what consistent big-time coaches do.

                    • KU is such trash. That banked-in garbage 3 will probably be the difference in the game.

A basket in the first 7 minutes of the game won't be the difference.
