    1. College World Series championship in 1989.
    2. Victory over Florida State in 1989 to get to the CWS championship.
    3. 55-49 win over KU in 86/87 season and win over KSU that same season. We had the Governor's trophy that year.
    4. Semi-final win over Washington State in the NIT (I couldn't stick around for the final.)
    5. Being close to the football game in Manhattan during the victory there in 1985. I made it as far as Aggieville. I had a lot of fun asking the DJ at Brothers to update the bar on the score.

      4. Sweet 16 in 2006
      5. 1964 Final Four
      6. NIT Championship
      7. 1970 Arkansas football game after the wreck
      8. In 1972, watching Quniten Kaye block a punt against Louisville and seeing a 6'4' 255 lb Rich Dvorak pick up the blocked punt and out run Louisville's All American running back Howard Stevens 50 yards for a touchdown.
I think you mean the 1965 Final Four. K-State beat Wichita in the Midwest Regional final in 1964. But a nice list nonetheless.

Gotta include the best season WSU ever had in football in which they were one game away from a perfect season.

1954 — WU compiles a 9-1 record and captures the MVC crown, its first MVC conference championship in any sport. Statistically, the season is the best in school history, bettering the 1908 record of 8-1 and the 8-2 record posted in 1933.

          1954

1954. Wasn't that the year that OK State kicked off to WSU and Jim Klisanin ran it back for a TD only to have it called back for a penalty? And, OSU then kicked off and Klisanin ran it back again for a TD? Wasn't Jack Mitchell the WSU coach then? This is a memory stretcher. What I remember was that if that was the game, my dad took me to it and we were late to the game and were walking along the fence outside the field in the SW corner and saw Klisanin score.

Jack Mitchell was definitely the coach. Then he left for Arkansas and later KU. He wasn't very successful at KU and I don't know what happened to him after that.

Can't help you on the two back-to-back run backs for touchdowns, but I'll take your word for it. After 57 years. we're doing pretty good even to remember they had a great football team.

Seeing the CWS win over Texas beats all my personal Shocker moments.

Beating smug, Tennessee and Bruce Pearl is another. It was made especially sweet because Tennessee had the dirty player who undercut John Cooper about 20 years ago and ended his playing days.

The regional win over OKState that (for a few years anyway) allowed WSU to become the dominant Midwest baseball power is a significant Shocker moment.

Beating CU in Rosenblatt at CWS, then beating them again with the help of Audley's throw was special.

Beating KU in Larry-ville 13-10? Write that one in. Holding Manning to 12 and beating KU during 1986-87 season was a good moment.

And under the radar, Beating KSU in Cessna in our last football season, holding them off on the strength of a goal-line stand. It was a great moment, even though the plug was pulled by Perkins and Co. not too long after that.

Now, for a WSU moment yet to be made:
I hope WSU has a good moment in November, on early signing day, with a signature obtained from a talented local basketball player......or two. That's a good moment we've all been waiting for. I've given my opinion regarding that potential moment in other threads, not expecting it. But make no mistake, it would be a helluva moment and make a helluva statement. And until something else happens, it's one we can all hope for.

I am a bit young to have compiled a list anywhere near the stature of some others posted but I've always said the best entertainment in Wichita is a WSU basketball game and thought I would share my list.

                1. Win over #12 Creighton at the Coliseum
                2. Win over # 20 Texas Tech in 09
                3. Matty's 3 to beat Creighton in 06
                4. Win over Nebraska in this year's NIT
                5. Win over #22 UNI in 2010

The Nebraska and TTU game have a special significance since I was lucky enough to have a front row seat at both games.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.
