I never thought Ellis would take an official here. As noted, the family lives within walking distance of the campus.

Don't schools have a limited number of players they can bring on campus for official visits each year? If so, Perry not coming on an official visit because he can come on campus for free anytime is good for WSU since it keeps an official visit open for other recruits.

I'm sure it's five and I think Trop is right on 12.

Official visits were nice because you get fed... both with food and with tons of BS. It's probably one of the last times the coaches will be kissing your ass, too.

If I were Perry, damn straight I'd take the free trip to see the country and what it has to offer. Visiting a place you could walk to as one of your five would be like giving it away.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Yep! As a senior in high school, a buddy and I took an "official visit" to Michigan U. Neither one of us was being recruited to play D-I sports, but we got three days of excused absence from school so we went up and partied with my friends brother. Good times!

From Brian Gates of Rivals - posted at 6:16 this evening.

                        Just received some information ....
Perry Ellis has trimmed his list to four schools (down from seven).

The remaining four are: Duke, kansas, K-State and Kentucky.

I could be wrong, but I can't see a smart guy like Perry going to a school where the coach can take the Greatest Recruiting Class Of All Time and guide that group to two wins in the NCAA's during their entire college careers.

Perry has indicated he'd like to leave college early and KSU has a great track record of players leaving early. Some of them actually do it to play pro ball.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I'll bet you your entire fleet of farm equipment that Ellis ain't going to Aggie Silo Tech Ville.
