Agreed, but KenPom does have the advantage of using last years data to keep things from going too crazy early in the year. It will work itself out and hopefully be a better metric than the RPI ever was.

Interesting. He has George Mason as the auto and VCU as an at-large (they're currently tied for 3rd with RI and Dayton with 4 other teams ahead of them). I'm guessing Davidson (who won at GM), St. Louis, and others will have a lot to say about both of them both the season is over.
