This tells me it wasn’t an issue with the coaching. Looks like a homesick move to me.

That had to be a tough discussion for both CJ and the coaching staff regarding coming back. I recently extended a job offer to someone. After taking time to decide, they declined the offer then called me two days later to ask if the position was still available. Even though I hadn’t filled the position (and desperately needed to), I had to tell them the offer was rescinded. I couldn’t take the risk with the wavering commitment. Sucks for them because they missed out on a great opportunity. I wouldn’t be surprised if this situation was very similar.

I understand the business logic behind your approach, but that could be a two way street. If he was the best candidate out there for the position, then you could be the one missing out on a great candidate. I'm not sure CJ was the best candidate, or certainly HCGM didn't think he was good enough to take back regardless of the wavering.Last edited by OregonShocker; June 29, 2018, 01:02 PM.
