Probably only the rules apply only when he is a NCAA coach. Anything before that is "free". Lomax is probably slightly different because he already had a relationship established outside of basketball.

Not sure all of these are cut out for coaching

...previously had Joe Dooley as their coach. He was there from 96-99 a 57-52 record, 30-36 in conference games(CAA). He has been better at FGCU, but one could argue that has mostly been keeping something going that someone else built.

Reports are they upped their financial commitment quite a bit to land him. ECU doesn't need to be world beaters .. but top 150 would be nice.

Yup. Rumor has it he demanded a staff/program investments. ECU has never invested in its basketball program and Dooley still managed an above .500 record in his first stint. He'll likely be better with ECU supporting him.

        • Pirate fans appear ecstatic with the hire.

Paul Lusk may make a good assistant and a good recruiter. Seemed like a likable man. Maybe that is the level he is best suited for.

Agreed. He could find some talent. Just had literally no idea how to develop it or use it to win basketball games.

Jim Harrick expected to join Mark Gottfried’s staff at Cal State Northridge, source told ESPN. Turns 80 in July. Jeff Dunlap also on staff and Mo Williams could be in play. Gottfried and Harrick. Gotta wonder how long it’ll take NCAA enforcement to make a visit to Northridge.

I'll always like him because of that. I didn't know he had gotten into coaching. Good for him.

Ali has to be one of my all time favorite non Shockers, based solely on what he did to KU.

Edit: guess I wasn’t the only one that thought so.
