Respectfully disagree. Late in the season last year, beating a #229 Bradley team dropped our RPI 4 spots in the MVC tournament. 7~10 spots is a fair guesstimate for a 300-330 RPI team.

The revenue argument is definitely something to be factored in.

I would think the difference between 2 cupcakes at home vs. 1 cupcake at home and a road start to a home and home is only the revenue that concessions brings in. For instance, i've already paid my season tickets price for this year. I have no idea if we will have 18 or 17 home games. In the past they have not credited or asked for more money after finalizing the schedule.

If that happened every year and we had a good trend for those types of deals, then I'd be all for holding out. But again, how often has that happened with us? Especially in a home and home situation? Im guessing it's been a while.

Don't disagree, SF. However, to get that trend going, you have to start somewhere. At least the iron is warm.

I was looking at anything that might help make up for any revenue shortfall. Sub and I have said time after time that you only lose one home game, every other year, and AG is spot on.

The difference between two home cupcakes and a home-away series isn't going to change the price of a season ticket. The only revenue difference in that scenario is walk-up sales, which are low for cupcakes, and concessions.

Whether the last game is an away game to start a home-away, or a home game against a cupcake, ticket revenues are very close to the same.

The BCS argument that it's financial disaster to schedule a home-and-home against a mid breaks down the same way. It's only a financial loss if season ticket prices are based on the number of home games played. I don't think any schools use that pricing system because season tickets are sold before schedules are final.
