I was told numerous times last year (2010) to stop defending WSU and their chances for an atlarge bid. I guess I'll have critics either way.

Also, with this being a WSU board, there are going to be 10 posts making ridiculous comments in WSU's favor for every 1 post in the other direction.
This board is pretty middle of the road. I don't think there were too many riduculous comments made in WSU's favor. Maybe you should go back to the Jayhawk board or keep tabs on the Lawrence police scanner to keep track of your hawks.

What a bunch of pathetic losers Shockernet has become.

Seriously. Does there really need to be TWO hot threads right now covering the little brother syndrome?

I don't mean to sound like MTXE or Coldblooded or whoever the hell he is, but enough is enough. This is just sad.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

        Yeah, what rjl said!

Seriously, what do we have to gain playing KU? Even if we win a couple it will be ruled a fluke. If we lose its because we are a lowly mid-major.

I say we refuse to play KU.

This board has been embarrassing lately with all the 'little brother' threads, and the contempt so balantly displayed. Grow up and repeat the serenity prayer 20 times ... words to live by.

Not much, really. He did use the term, "flagship", which I thought was cute.

Talking about track and field. One of the teams was KU, but he instead referred to them as the team from our flagship university. (paraphrasing)

                      Did he reiterate this? :D

                      "Shocker AD Update

What a great athletic year we have had to date as we enter the spring championship season.

First, I want to start with thanking the people of Wichita and the loyal fans that followed the men's basketball journey both in person and from afar.

We have the most incredible fans that follow all of our teams, and to celebrate championships with them is always a great feeling.

I have heard from many people who say how much the NIT Championship trophy means to the Shocker Nation, mostly because of the never-say-die attitude of everyone associated with the basketball program, but also due to the grit, determination, and resiliency of the young men who laid it all on the court.

Thank you so much. We have a great community who supports our endeavors at a very high level. The people who travelled with us to New York were unbelievable. To Shocker fans everywhere, including the 5,000-plus strong that greeted us when we came home, we felt you the whole way. WE are proud to be from Wichita, and proud to represent Wichita and the State of Kansas.

I also want to recognize Jon Markwell, who sacrificed to travel more than 26,000 miles this year, following hte team to every road game from Hawaii to Carbondale to New York... and he's done that for two years now.

Our spring sports are in full swing, and some are headed down the stretch. I want to congratulate the women's tennis team on the MVC regular-season title they clinched over the weekend, and the women's golf team on its runner-up finish in the MVC Championship. I also look forward to celebrating more championships before the athletic year is over. The men's MVC Golf Championship is upon us, with the team picked to finish No. 1.

Also, the men's and women's tennis teams will compete in the MVC Championship on April 29 in St. Louis.

Our track and field teams continue to pursue titles too. The women's team recently set the WSU and MVC record for points in winning the indoor title, and the men finished third, just 13 points out of first place.

I also wanted to congratulate the softball team, which picked up a Top-25 win against Oklahoma State this week.

The baseball team and the outdoor track and field teams will be competing for tournament titles in May, as well. And of course, graduation is in May when we will celebrate the academic careers of almost 30 of our student-athletes. We also congratulate the 17 who graduated in December.

All of the Shocker championships are made possible in part by the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization (SASO). Your support helps change student-athlete's lives. Champions on the field and in the class room make champions in life, which is our combined goal.

The exposure that championships bring provides positive exposure for the University, community and state of Kansas, as we have recognized with the recent NIT title.

I also wanted to pass along some information from the SASO office:

SASO Renewals have gone out, so to ensure your seating priority, please return no later than Many 16. If you have yet to receive your renewal, please call the SASO office at 978-7276.

If you are interested in inquiring about making changes to your men's basketball seat location, please note your request on the ticket renewal form you will receive in May.

In 2010-11 SASO raised more than $3,273,556.78 for student-athlete scholarships and support. We have narrowed the gap still needed to fully fund student-athlete support thanks to our proud Shocker supporters.

Shocker fans have also taken to the Each 1 Reach 1 program to help grow the base of SASO.

Please visit wsusaso.com for more information on the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization.

Again, thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you at the many remaining home events this spring.

Together, let's celebrate many more championships!

                      Eric Sexton

                        So it was sarcasm?

                        If so, awesome.
