I would not play the Shox if I was Gay. Because they simply cannot take the chance (however slim) that they might lose. The upside is minimal. The downside is HUGE. Do not blame them at all for not wanting the game, but by definition, ya, they cannot play the Shox cause they are afraid they might lose.

They're not afraid of WSU in some sort of gory Braveheart-style fashion. They are afraid of WSU due to the ramifications that would result in-state for the program's cache, alumni relations, etc, in that 2 or 3 out of 10 times they would lose head-to-head. The University of Kansas - on all fronts - needs to maintain an air of superiority over WSU, without actually having to cough up and compare any sort of concrete metrics.

How have they faired at crunchtime in the NCAA's against middies?
Maybe they still need more prep time during the regular season. Geez, you can tell all those teams are more beneficial for KU than a WSU would be.
I just find it funny Jamar that you'll always be the first to run to KU or other BCS's school aid, but never to WSU's. It's that way every damn time. Pretty good stuff.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

How about this: Not going to look it up, but I'm guessing a large number of those regular season games were on KU's court, with a few neutral, and maybe a couple of road games. However, in the NCAA Dance, they won only 6 of 10 games. How's that stack up to your "expected" win total? Look's pretty mid-majorish to me.

Wow... I had no idea ku had lost a third of its games to good mids since 2006. Nice research. Could you let me know how many of the wins in that time are neutral/road?

Interesting reply for someone who relies on sound facts. You poke holes in a joke that is not meant to be factual, just mildly funny to Shocker fans, while at the same time, validating Ricky Bobby's position that KU would probably lose 2 or 3 times out of 10 (your figures put it closer to 3) and why they would avoid (or be afraid) to play WSU.
Actually, I was being half serious in wondering just what KU's expected # of wins would have been in those 10 NCAA Dance games and % of under expectancy.
