Not sure if they blew a speaker or if they were trying to fix audio in another part of the arena, but I had no issues with Don Hall until the second half and then lost him unless no one in attendance made noise.

Didn’t they at one point put speakers up higher, but remove them because old birds complained?

I'm happy when we complain about this kind of stuff. I just want to WIN. When you win, the games are immensely entertaining..

If this board had been a part of the 1990's WSU basketball, can you imagine the number of complaints there would be? :Many people would be threatening to jump off of the nearest bridge. :)

So what I'm reading on this thread is that as far as the glare issue it must be related to the finish that they used on the floors, and not the new lighting. There must be a higher gloss finish on the floors that is causing more reflection from the advertisement lighting that's causing the glare.

This is correct as far as TV viewing goes. I do not notice a glare inside the arena so I cannot speak for the “live” viewing issue.

Just watched the TV version and it was not an issue for me. In fact, it looks better than it used to on TV.

Sure there may be some slight reflection. But guess what? It was there under the old lights too.

if you have any games saved form the last couple season, I encourage you to go back and compare the two for yourselves.

It might be a little more than it used to be, but they are still working out the kinks. I’m sure it will improves as time goes on.

Looked awesome!!! Except miss seeing ALL the BLACK and YELLOW in the arena. I could hear the crowd noise...just couldn't see it much. Maybe in the future they'll add some more led's to enhance that beautiful loud and proud crowd!!!

I thought the lights looked really, really good on TV. Way better than in the past. Has a high level look to it.

I've sat in three different locations so far and haven't noticed anything to do with glare that was in the least bit distracting. On the other hand, I haven't been looking for something that could be considered a distraction.

The new lights have been fantastic in my experience, which has now been in I think three or four totally different spots (Madness, couple VB games, our MBB seats). I could see though if one were sitting at a complimentary angle to the court and new lights that it could be an issue.

I do wonder why they were not just installed in a circular array at the top of the ceiling, like the old setup. If they were directed straight down like that I would assume it would eliminate the glare some of you are talking about.

Agree the new intro video is weak, especially the music. Tunnel video is being reused from last year. Production value for a lot of game time stuff remains amateur hour. Thank God we have Marshall and crew running at 110% to offset the dead wood in other areas of the athletic department bureaucracy.

It was funny last night when halftime God Bless America girl wanted everyone to do a sing along with her, and then she customized the song spontaneously while the crowd was singing the song traditionally. You could almost hear the collective "ugh" and eye-roll by all 10,506 in attendance. It was a bad look.

That God bless America was awkward and way too long lol

Picture #2 from SB Shock is our issue. The picture doesn't display how bright the reflection is. And, I'm not *****ing and moaning, simply pointing out something which could be improved, I mean, it's like driving into the sun as it's going down...yeah, I can still drive, and most of the time I can see, but it's a pain in the *ss. So, I just put down the sun shade, and things are better. Just looking for possible corrections.

The fix seems petty simple- just put some mats down in that area. It will fix the glare issue and protect the floor.

Abysmal. Why can't they show more in-game highlights from last year? There were plenty of them. Throw in some NCAA highlights (like from a year or two ago where ZB embarrasses Oubre and throws it down). The music is downright snooze-worthy. Definitely went the wrong direction with the intro "pump up" video.

Disorganized and embarrassing. Extremely cringe-worthy. About par for the course.

I agree the video is weak. With all due respect to Don Hall, I think it is time to get an announcer who is more fun, loud and has exciting voice inflections. That would overcome some of the issues with the speakers and make the game way more exciting. Ted Woodward or Shane Dennis come to mind as guys that would be great. Also, with someone louder and more exciting, perhaps we could actually hear Marshall’s name announced and give him the appreciation he deserves.

I personally like Don Hall. If I had to listen to someone like SIU’s guy night after night I would legitimately start wearing earplugs.
